I predicted this 'change' in Turkey way back in 1999-2001. I became certain of it between 2004-2007. It's the momentum that you observe now. More bad than good.

My country is another example of that change.

Majority doesn't deserve it. Turkey at this point in time is what Pakistan was back in 1990. Sadly it gets much much much worse before I don't know what.

The writer can talk as much as he wants but did he also consider the fact that critical thinkers dont live long enough to ask a second or third question in such a society?
Even many ''strong'' people cant ask to much as it may turn into a life threatening situation for them,the only thing they can do is accept it and adapt to it.

Well, yes, but speaking entirely for myself and for my brand of Indians, I would rather that we did not go through the Holocaust in order to get to think critically. The Holocaust killed 6 million Jews; it killed, proportionately, a larger percentage of the population of the Roma; if you look up the figures for the numbers who died during Partition, you will find that between 1 to 2 million died in a matter of weeks.

I don't want my society to become critically thinking, if the price is to wade through the blood of innocents. We already have done some of it. Enough. If it means submission to Sanghi goons, perhaps we should get used to it.

You dont know because there is nothing after ''before'',that word is normally the stop-word,things should have changed but it didnt,it only got worse and when we pointed it out,like in Pakistans case,we got a quote from the Book as answer.
