Things I miss about Pakistan in the US

Western culture is indeed superior because it values individual's life and protects it. Not like in Pakistan where the Mullah has to give azan and sermon while setting amplifier to its max volume and destroy neighbors comfort regardless of someone may be preparing for exams, someone may be ill and needed rest, someone was doing something else, no, the Mullah has to ensure that miles around 'his' mosque everybody is listening to his rants. Pakistan where everything from dried milk for children to the meat sold at the butcher's shop and the vegetables sold on the 'redhi' is impure and adulterated. Pakistan where once you get involved into a civil case, only your son or grandson will get to hear the verdict and that too often in favor of your opponent because he managed to 'deal' better with the Police, lawyers, and the judge. Pakistan where a woman cant walk safe from the dirty eyes of bystanders. Pakistan where we throw our garbage in other's or in from of other's doorway. You call this culture? Well, I send hazaar laanat on this culture and am happy with the western culture that is free of all these ills.

I dont think it is Western culture....Sure they value individual life...But its coz they have laws against discrimination....There is something called nature which is brought by culture than there is something called forced which is brought down by law....

Take any hate speaker who is American- born and brought up there...Where did her culture slip off too? Taking her as an example is the same as you taking a Mullah as an example ...

What about the priest that molest children, shall we drop that into their culture?

What about the large giants who have been on trial, fined for putting bad food on the shelves? Is that now part of their culture?

What about all those criminals in USA who strike a deal and walk free/ or get less punishment or are instead made the informant and "protected" by the law? How cool is that culture? A rapist can be out on good behaviour only to come back in some months later...A drug cartel can provide info and get police protection? A mass murderer can be out after striking some deal?

Do you know how many women are molested before thy turn 20 in USA?

Do you think no trash or industrial chemicals flow in American rivers? Yea sure they clean up...But your point was throwing...And as for throwing stuff out the window

NOTHING is perfect...But you highlighting only what you wish to see in USA while highlighting ONLY the bad in Pakistan is VERY biased!

I do condemn all the bad that is going on in Pakistan but I wouldnt turn a blind eye on the same number of evil in USA....You seem to have become intolerant towards your own culture in the rush to accept another culture whose bad you dont seem to want to acknowledge! Yet you wish people (Pakistani) would acknowledge the bad of the culture they have accepted? What do you wanna call this?

What year was that? I go there all the time and it is pretty convenient now. Besides, there are few problems that the InterWebz and a few phone calls cannot fix.

Then also in Danville, IL area. No desi stuff available there. Your best bet was a 1 hour 30 minute drive to Champaign to the UofI campus or 2 hour drive north to Chicago.

Why would they have desi stuff where there are no desis? Like i said, if you are in the rural setting, away from major urban areas, you are out of luck. If they have come up with an online portal to purchase that sort of stuff, good. At least when i was there in USA till 2011, they didn't have any that could ship stuff cheaply enough.
Compare this with UK....no matter where you live you were never 30 minutes away.....and you had excellent public transportation to go and fetch stuff. But that was because UK has a much bigger desi population scattered all along.

And a better transportation system....Americans spend half of their lives driving ....My landlord is married to a Norwegian whose son works in USA and they were not happy with him driving about for hrs as well....

Bhai, I was bashing hijab (not abaya though) because there is no such thing as hijab in Islam. Adopting western culture does not mean that we begin to drink and start sleeping with strangers rather adopting good things about their culture such as punctuality, honesty, being considerate, etc.

I am not sure whatelse to do...When I break the post and reply...People complain about that when I make them coloured to indicate which part is a reply to which portion of text people still have problems...THIS according to your definition would fall under na shukri of people against my efforts

Islam is a religion of nature and balance and hiding one's face behind a veils is anything but natural and balanced. Same goes with draping oneself into bolts of fabric. Islam teaches of adopting middle-of-the-road path in everything, from prayers to eating food to spending money to do other things. This simple principle of Islam should not be difficult to understand I guess.

Magar aapnay kabhi pakistan may bohat crowded streets ,roadsides pay notice kiya women only wearing duppatta and chaddars but not niqab on their own cover their faces to avoid men staring at them etc.

Kuch tau natural hoga ...hmmmm...just wondering..hmm.

I have and Mr covering face has consensus of pretty much all the great scholars in history in past 1400 years. I read about Islam on daily bases, order is clear and when this order came after that no women used to go out without fully covering face.

I give a dam what you have to say covering face for women is clear order of Islam. In time of RASOOL SAW and 4 Caliphs and even centuries after that women used to cover their face and those who say its not compulsory even most of them say its preferred but not compulsory.

Who are Iranians? Kaafir? Why they do not consider covering face as part of Islam? Who are Turkish? Kaafir? Why they do not consider covering face as a must? Who are Malaysian and Indonesians? Why they do not cover face? Who are central Asians? Why this jahalat is specific to Afghanistan and Wahabi Saudi Arabia?
