Theresa May: Skripals "were poisoned with a military grade nerve agent developed by Russia"

This news is getting more interesting, so far, as a third party, I didn't see any convincing explanation from the side which supports Russian did it. Lacking both motive and gains to justify why should Russia risk its reputation and stability before his election and World Cup. Also assassinating a former spy through the swap program that kill the Russian future chance of cooperation with other countries. Not to mention, why kill a former spy that poses zero threat to the country, and why not kill him in Russia instead of UK, which can save a lot of work? As other members here said, Why the assassination was so sloopy? Even Kim Jong-nam died within 15 minutes with 8 times less poisonous nerve agent. Why do the Russian used the nerve agent that would be easily identified and tracked back to them? Since killing a Russian traitor already points the finger to Russia and by using Novichok agent would be like giving the UK double confirmation.
Other thing which I find it very strange, Why UK didn't share the sample with Russia for proper investigation and procedure at first. Instead, they went for endless accusation to blame the Russians through repetitively media bombing. Since Novichok agent is highly possible obtained by the USA in Uzbekistan, as other member stated. It proves Russia might not be the only country that possessed the nerve agent, which the mainstream Media try to omit from their news. As a country that proclaimed itself as a rule of laws, isn't the UK should at least give the Russia the benefit of doubt, as innocent until proven guilty, instead of going to the security council to point finger without conclusive evidence.

The UK has been acting immaturely, to say the least, which shows that they are not behaving on their own accord, but being on the receiving end of a longer and stronger trans-Atlantic leash.

Otherwise, I do not see the UK rendering itself into a country that acts so weird, angry, hysterical and illogical.

I guess Trump-style politics is spreading into UK, which is, strategically, good.

Even if we believed that Russia had good reasons to kill this guy (like many other countries do), then, I have no reason to believe why they would be less competent that the US, Israel or other countries' secret agencies. They also do lots of extrajudicial killings. So, morality can drop dead.

If I were a Russian citizen, I would not take the accusation of the murder as an insult (if national security required so, yes, killing of a double agent would be justifiable). Rather, I would take it as an insult to believe that Russia did such a poor job.

It seems that even that kid who killed some 17 students in the US high school left much less evidence than this Russia-assisted operation did.

Maybe, next time, Russia should hire US school kids. Or, maybe Russia should wait until US school teachers are properly trained for firearms. Then hire them.

I’d expect nothing less from a Chinese poster. Keep oppressing your populace. Eventually the bubble will burst.

Cheers!

Funny how some people are defending traitors, by comparing them to founders of other nations. Which makes no sense, because when you found a country, that becomes your motherland.

This guy wasn't founding a country, he sold the identities of Russian agents overseas for cash.

The guy betrayed his country and his partners at the FSB. People went to prison, lost families, careers and possibly were killed so he could make some cash. Most cultures despise snitching essspecialy Russian, many Russians would rather take the blame for someone they hate then snitch.

The U.K. is a little puppy barking. It has been threatening and harrasing Russia for years for “aggression” while invading countries all over the world and licking American boots.

The U.K. carries more credibility and clout than bankrupt Russia.

lol, this post is very funny. Joke aside, I still find this is hard to believe Russia did it. Even they had a good reason to kill him, the timing is not right since this is illogical to assassinate him right before the election and world cup. Not to mention, Putin will certainly win the next election with high support. Why bother to kill someone that might jeopardize his election. Also that ex-spy have been hiding in UK for like ten years (didn't check), so I don't see the urge to assassinate him right away. For ten years the Russian didn't kill him, so why now at this un-beneficial moment. Something just doesn't add up.

What credibility it that exactly? Russia is a major military power, the UK is not, thus Russia can speak from a position of power. Russia controls much of the energy to Europe, the U.K. does not, Russia produces half of the worlds weat, thus they can effect foreign food production and even inflation, the U.K. can’t. Russia supplies energy and raw material to countries like China which is a major economic power, the U.K. does not and is not.

Russia has the backing of many powerful countries such as China, India, while also having strong influences on those countries due to mutual understandings, interests and trade, not to mention Russia is largely calling the shots in the Middle East and Asia. Egypt, Vietnam, Israel, Iran, China, India, any many other countries go to Russia with various geopolitical challenges. No one goes to the U.K.

The only influence the U.K. has is minimal and is confined to poverty stricken Eastern European countries that allow small contingent of British soldiers to “protect” them. The U.K. is completely irrelevant on the world stage. The only countries that the world pays attention to is China, Russia and American.

I think this time they constructed a very bad false-flag. Shows the general decay in capacity. There are so many things that do not add up or make zero sense -- that it almost becomes not funny.

He isn’t ethically even English, go easy on him. Then again I don’t think there are many English people left in the U.K.

Your a British citizen, where is your loyalty?

Amateur response. How old are you kid? Debate the points, not rhetoric.

So if tomorrow Tersa May ask me to jump , I should jump? The saga of Iraqi WMDs is still haunting, with those involved are running scot free. Your loyality demands to pursue those who lied to the country, so when are you going out demanding Tony Blair to be tried as war criminal?

This is a very serious issue. Learn from history. WW1 started by a false flag and WW2 after League of the nations crumble. Its almost like history repeating itself.

What’s wrong with immigration. How many immigrants have jobs in China. See Pakistan this is your ally and their limited mentality. :)

The U.K. is part of the JQRF and NATO, combined we outnumber and outgun Russia :). Our economy is stronger :) so is our governance :).

That is subjective. To some Russia carries more credibility and to others less...

I am taking of the civilised world and not run pot regimes. I am talking of the corruption and human rights transparency index :).

Please hand in your passport since you clearly have no loyalty to the U.K.

There are so many options to kill a person without using poison. Just crash a drone in the person's head will do the job.

UK government wont cooperate. This is a typical false flag operation to frame Russia. Why should it cooperate when the objective of poisoning a former agent is being met with predictable line of action?

Its CIA written all over it specially when it is already know that they scoped up the same chemical agent from Uzbekistan after the fall of Soviet union. May is toeing American agenda just like Tony Blair did.

Its a shame when war criminal like Tony Blair who himself admitted that he lied about Iraqi WMDs, are allowed to go scot free and no deterrence is created for future leaders.

Again, how old are you?

Any proof? Or more hyperbole? Vitriolic nonsense.

I think Russia really wanted to get caught. Or else, somebody will get get fired for bad story-making and false flag because this is a poorly done stunt.

The UK is the only victim here because their government looks dramatically deranged and amateurish.

The real game is between big guys, Russia and the US, and I guess it will get even dirtier.

As far as I know, Russians are only angry at the UK's low regard of Russia's clandestine operations capabilities.

A country that got Trump elected could not silently kill an old double agent whose best before was already over for ten years now?

Is Russia so big and bad, or so little and clumsy? Western state-embedded propaganda machine needs to decide.

Nonetheless, I hear Putin killed a number of wild bears with bare hands out of anger last night.
