What's new

The world is finally uniting against China’s bully tactics

But of cause Chinese Americans will need to think more due to the situation they are in, but you can always just return home in the future.
China does not want Chinese Americans. America is their one and only home. Some individuals might have more options but the vast majority are plainly stuck.

Well they have their roots here, if they want to return home, I don't think there is a law that preventing them from coming back, as long as they can prove their bloodline, at least according to the current immigrant law I think.

Besides, many of the oversea Chinese are patriots and many are either talented or quite wealthy or both, they will be positive factors to the society, with the aging population of China, bring in oversea Chinese is good, far far better than bring in non-Chinese.

If this is what you think, I suspect you are not a Chinese citizen. Not trying to be rude. Just stating a fact.

That's the current immigrant rule for oversea Chinese:

Its pretty easy for oversea Chinese to become Chinese nationality if they were once an Chinese nationality before:

For oversea Chinese dated back their root several generations back, and has no close relatives that were once a Chinese nationality, the thing become a little bit more difficult, they need to apply a green card first and such:

For him, may not so, especially considering his involvement in Fund One.

Case by case I guess.

i can stay in china for 5 years as much as i want, all the while keeping my singaporean citizenship.

Are you an ethnic Chinese? Do you aspire to live in China?

Or in the words of state media China Daily, "return home"?

Good news

Here's some good news for you.

Starting from Feb. 2, 2018, foreigners of Chinese origin will be allowed to apply for visas that permit them to stay in China for five years or enter the country multiple times, provided they meet the criteria.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, the changes are expected to attract more overseas ethnic Chinese to do business or live in China.

How to apply?

Prove your Chinese origin

As reported by South China Morning Post (SCMP), first, you need to have at least one parent, grandparent or ancestor who is or was a Chinese citizen.

China's official definition says that a foreigner of Chinese origin refers to a former Chinese citizen who has obtained foreign citizenship, or the children of present or former Chinese citizens.

No limit on the number of generations was specified.

Then, you need to produce the relevant documents that prove your Chinese origin.

These include copies of your relatives' Chinese passports or identity cards, if you don't have them yourself.

The official documents can be issued either by the Chinese government or the authorities in the country where you're applying.

According to the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office in Shanghai, certificates from overseas governments will also be accepted after these are assessed by the Chinese embassy or consulate in the applicant's country of origin.

Easier for ethnic China to visit

The new policy makes it relatively easy for applicants as it doesn't impose any restrictions on their reasons for visiting.

Such visas can be issued to overseas ethnic Chinese people if they need to visit for a number of reasons, such as visiting their relatives, conducting business or cultural exchanges, or dealing with any personal matters in China.

Those who need to stay for longer periods due to work, study or other matters can apply for a five-year residency permit.

Overseas Chinese are still Chinese

China has been ramping up efforts to extend its influence abroad.

EJ Insight, the English website of Hong Kong Economic Journal, contends that along with China's growing nationalism, China is increasing its assertion of something akin to sovereignty over ethnic Chinese who are citizens of other countries.

The Communist Party's mouthpiece People's Daily in 2012 encouraged "more and more overseas Chinese to participate in the local political life".

Then in January 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that although "missing" Hong Kong bookseller Lee Bo held a British passport, he was "first and foremost a Chinese citizen".

Also, at an annual reception for American families that had adopted Chinese babies held in December 2015, Luo Linquan, the Chinese consul general in San Francisco, reminded the young American girls and women that China was the land of their birth and that China'd never forget them.

You grow up speaking English, live in American families and have loving American parents.

Yet your black eyes, black hair and dark skin all remind you that you are Chinese.

He also encouraged them to learn Chinese and to develop a "Chinese spirit".

Seems like China only "bullies" India while enjoying very cordial relations with the rest of her neighbors.

That also without change in facial expression. They lie in straight face.
Ask Pakistanis. You just described yourself.
@Areesh @Mugwop @PAKISTANFOREVER @DESERT FIGHTER @doorstar @Mugen @masterchief_mirza @Mangus Ortus Novem

LOL! You really think he'd admit this is the core cause of his lashing out. To him everybody else is the one with a problem.
A hybrid like yourself shouldn't be even talking about a race. You're on a fence, you don't know which side you're gonna fall to.

@waz @PakSword Bros, I think this thread had it's time.

LOL, our forefathers didn't surrender and didn't give in. We fought and now we have half of Mongolia. But you guys were colonized by the Muslims for 1000 year and 300 years by the British. We don't have anything written in Japanese but your entire constitution is written in English. So who's the one being conquered again?
Nailed it.

The slaves in subcontinet got their new countries in 1947 hope you know the name ....earlier they were British slaves then become American slaves now they are Chinese slaves .......
Meanwhile, the gangetics have been slaves of steppeland raiders for millennia. So much so, that you worship their descendants - Brahmins, Aryans, call them what you will. Your obsession with pale skin tone and muscular features literally derives from this millennia-old invasion and subjugation of the gangetic plains.

The only mistakes made by later invaders (Muslims and British) was that they forgot to incorporate themselves into your caste structure as the dominant caste, as the original Aryans did.

Hopefully that shuts you up, unless you're planning an "out of India" theory rebuttal, which is always good for a laugh.

.
Err yes it Is Sir

One thing i can tell these anglo saxon countries wont give a dam what china North Korea or Pakistan think or say
I think people fail to understand that power/might/influence gives you more say as well. Without power andyand influence you won't even have the means or medium to make your voice or view heard. Just look at African countries, who even cares about what they say or think ? Not even you guys in South Asia care. Same with poor weak countries like Philippines, Vietnam , or Bolivia , Cambodia etc etc.
This is how life has always been. Power gives you more say and having more influence and better still alliances of powerful countries will give you an eve bigger say and decision making on how the rules are going to be made . In this regard the West has not only the technological dominance of world affairs, but also economic, financial, scientific etc etc dominance as of today and it won't change anytime soon. So it's normal the leading powers will want to keep their lead on the world. Same with how the upcoming power will want to get a place for itself among those leading powers. So it's normal there will be friction. Before it was Germany and Japan and it caused frictions and a world war, then Soviet Union, and now it's China's . Tomorrow might be another country. Upcoming powers will always come to some sort of disagreements/clash and conflict of interests at some point on time. The only thing is which side will prevail and continue the cycle until it all starts again. India or any other power isnt any different in this regard, if they grow to some extent and try to change the dynamic of power they too will be met with resistance from thelthe powers. Geopolitics in a nutshell

.
How can South Asian part impact Pakistanis your ancestors are either Turks or Central Asians or Arabs...... I am talking specific to specifi to south asians who were slaves of Muslims and then British and got converted .....

You guys are white skinned rulers so dont worry

Its no use when u only have "more say" in short time like Mongol or British empires ( Mongol is split into half by CN-Russia while UK is dominated by US MNCs).

Meanwhile, small VN keep expanding, from small area near CN, then we got the South from Khmer, Champa, and then we got 60-65% SCS ( east VN sea) where 85-90 % of SK-JP cargo ships must pass throught.

In Confucius we prefer "Do more, talk less"
