The US objects to selling UAV parts to Turkey

What a big deal. USA company should better stick mentioned Lazer designators into their :) . Aselsan has various type of lazer designators which is developed to use on both aerial and Land platforms/soldiers. The key components of lazer systems are developed by Tubitak.

ABD'den Türkiye'ye 'silahlı İHA' şoku - ZAMAN

short summary: the US govt didn't give permission to West-Cam, an American company that is supposed to deliver some UAV parts, to Turkey. Reason being the USA not willing that Turkish drones get armed. The parts in question, a camera system and laser designator, were meant to be implemented in the Turkish armed drone called 'Karayel'.

What's weird in this news is "Vestel Karayel" is a reconnaissance and surveillance system, not an armed drone at the first place.

This is not a shocker. The US has turned down all offers for armed drone technologies from EVERY country except the UK (and they can only use them in Afghanistan).

It's no big surprise a laser designator for a UAV was denied an export permission. That's the well known status.

You cant use the technology without the drone in afghanistan.

Could this be due them, the US, seeing the Turkish UAV products as competitive when compared to American UAV? Or simply objecting Turkey's independent military industry as much as possible? The article also stated that Turkey has the capability to solve this issue on their own anyway.
The US do not trust Muslim country even if you are part of NATO.
