The Turkish defense industry continues to rise: 7 companies in Defense News Top 100 list

Most of the Turkish defense project are either joint ventures with foreign nations or copied from foreign designs like Altay which is actually a south Korean K-2 Black Panther, but @MMM-E wont understand

Thank you for your information, mate. However, let's be fair though, Altay is not a copy of K2 Black Panther. Altay may employ some technologies from K2, but I believe it is distictive enough to call a separate tank. Plus, their many of UAV programs are indeed indigenous and pretty impressive. However, I am not so sure about their future UAV programs that employ unreliable Ukrainian engines.

Overall, I do think Tukish defence industry is doing great, but I just don't see them overtaking likes of GE Aviation and so on. That's completely insane.

This troll friend always makes such nonsense and propaganda, but this man's nonsense doesn't give you the right to make up. Otokar cooperated with Hyundai Techwin to learn the subsystems such as suspension systems etc., which it had previously liked for Altay in line with the requests of the Turkish Armed Forces. If they wanted it, could now have it in a fully Turkish tank like the Tank-ACV models released by FNSS and Otokar, but the force wanted the subsystems to be Hanwa and Rheinmetall standard, so the technology was imported. In addition, this only applies to certain subsystems, Turkey-ballistic computers for all kinds of tasks these tools from their suppliers, electro-optical and electro-optical cooling system is able to supply up to. Don't try to match it with your mbt2000, which is interrior full of Chinese letters and has an arabic name, we do not fry bread in motor oil on the street.

They will not be able to export enough to anybody to compete with established companies. Market is already set in stone among most countries with money. They will be mainly a domestic supplier or to nations that own a lot Turkey like Qatar.

Thank you for your information. However, it's not so convincing as you are comparing Aselsan and TAI with the world's leaders in the defence industry such as Honeywell (their total revenue is more than $40 billions, if it was a Turkish company, it would have been the number one in terms of revenue by beating Koc Holding), GE Aviation and Rolls-Royce and they will dominate the industry in any foreseabale future.

For instance, TAI is rumored to use GE Aviation F110 engine for TF-X (and I still doubt the US congress & GE Aviation actually greenlighted this 'sale' as there is no confirmation from the US). Both Aselsan and TAI will constinue to do business with those international companies and contribute to their revenues. They will continue to grow and invest in technologies and engineering as they are backed by much bigger countries with larger budget.

Again, I am glad that Turkey is ambitous, but please, be realistic. You can list whatever projects, but you should be mindful that any of them could flop like Altay.

what about Honeywell or GE or RR ? only Engines

in 2030s TAI will have potential to export UCAVs , Fighter Jets , Trainer and light Attack Aircrafts , also 6 and 10 tons class Utility Helicopters , also 6 and 10 tons class Attack Heelicopters , also TAI produce Military - Communication Satellites

also TAI produce under license American Sikorsky Blackhawk Helicopters ..... up to 600 units for export market

also TAI's Component Production ( including fuselage ) for F-35 Fighter Jet , Airbus A400M , Airbus A350 , A330 , A220 , A321 NEO , Boeing 737 , 787 ,777 , Leonardo AW139 Heelicopter

TFX prototypes use GE F110 Engines ( Turkiye bought already 6 F-110 Engines )
and in 2018 TR-MOTOR has started developing new turbofan engine for the TFX and after 2029 everybody will see indigenous turbofan engine on the TFX Fighter Jet

as like T-625 Helicopter with TS-1400 Engine will be delivered on 29 October 2021
and The TS1400 Turboshaft Engine can also be integrated into the T129 ATAK Helicopter with some adaptations

Nobody will buy these, Euro American Russian Chinese are all in the market and have more to offer and are more established. You will make little to no sales except in nations like Qatar, or Somalia.

-- Pakistan , Turkmenistan and Philippines wants to buy total of 42 T-129 Attack Helicopters from Turkiye but the US block Turkiye because of American Engine ..... soon Turkiye will solve engine problem with indigenous TEI TS1400 turboshaft Engine ..... Azerbaijan also wants to buy T-129 Attack Helicopters

-- Qatar,Ukraine,Tunusia bought UCAVs from Turkiye

its only beginning ....... in 2030s Turkiye will able to export UCAVs , Fighter Jets , Trainer and light Attack Aircrafts , also 6 and 10 tons class Utility Helicopters , also 6 and 10 tons class Attack Heelicopters with indigenous engines

Thats not much money, USA will never allow you to take away from their companies in the markets where the money is like Europe, Gulf and you will be left with the scraps and only sell like 50 helicopters. Sad but true.

Turkey has sold all the products offered for sale by this time seriously. Each time they write articles under the name of "marketing skills" that other countries are much cheaper or preferred, etc. and these products continue to be sold each time.

Turkiye gave $500 million to S.Korea for ALTAY Tank project
and its not secret ... everybody knows that ALTAY Tank is based on K2 ....... ( btw K2 use German gun and engine too )

ALTAY = K2 ( S.Korea )
T155 = K9 ( S.Korea )
T129 = A129 ( Italy )
TCG ANADOLU = JUAN CARLOS ( Spain )
and China gave T122 , T300 MLRS and J600T Tactical Ballistic Missile to Turkiye

NOTHING ELSE ...... even Europeans help eachothers for military projects .. many joint ventures

on the other hand Turkiye develops hundreds of military projects including Corvette , Frigate , Destroyer , LST , UCAVs , Helicopters , Cruise Missiles , Anti Ship Missiles , Air Defense Missiles , Air to Air Missiles , high energy LASER Weapons , hypersonic Electromagnetic Rail Guns , Electronic Warfare Systems , GaN based AESA Radars , turboshaft -turbojet-turboprob Engines and many more which is only a few countries in the World

Turkiye has started developing national defense industry after the US arms embargo on Turkiye by 1974
No other industry in Turkey has done so much in so little time. In the last decade, Turkish businesses and state-owned R&D centers have put amazing effort into their work and received amazing outcomes

Thats not where the money is again, you have a limited market to sell products unfortunately.

There is no Hyundai Techwin and I am sorry, but I am having a difficult time of understanding your sentences.

However, when you said "If he wanted it, he could now have it in a fully Turkish tank", does this mean Turkey could design & build a fully indigenous tank right now? I was under the impression that Turkey can't even develop a powerpack as well as some other critical parts?

.
Sanction the countries buying them like CAATSA.

Turkiye is a NATO Member .....
CAATSA is for Russia ..and nobody cares about CAATSA .. even puppet SISI's Egypt buys Russian Weapons

Mate, all of those countries already are selling the products that Turkey is trying to design & build in the next 2 decades. I don't think Turkey won't beat countries like US, UK and Europe on quality (except a very few cases) and Russia & China on prices (again except a few minor cases). In the end, do you seriously believe Aselsan & TAI could beat companies like Honeywell, Dassault, GE Aviation, RR, Mitsubishi heavy industries?
