The Third Cargo Flight From Afghanistan Lands in New Delhi
The third air cargo flight from Kabul is going to land in Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi on 30th July 2017.

After the official inauguration of the India-Afghanistan Air Corridor on 20th June 2017, the third air cargo, carrying fresh fruits such as apricots, melons and fresh fruits juice is going to land in New Delhi today and the fourth air cargo which will carry 45693 Kgs of Asafoetida (Spices and herbs) is due to fly from Kabul and arrive in New Delhi on 31st July 2017.

With the establishment of India-Afghanistan air corridor, the annual trade volume which presently stands at around $700 million will increase to the target of $1billion set by the governments of both nations.

furthermore, to promote the Afghan exports to India, the traders will only have to pay $0.2 per kg for exporting their goods and the rest will be paid by the government of Afghanistan as an incentive.

The plan, initially announced during the Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference in December last year by the principals of two countries, is intended to further improve and cement bilateral ties between the two countries through developing sustainable trade linkages.

Why is Afghanistan not using Iran for transit??

. . .
With port in Iran - practically anywhere.
Chahbar needs time to complete after its completion Afghanistan can use it ....While Iran does not allow afghanistan to use any of other existing available ports..and neither signed any agreement with them for the same

Just pay transit fees. Why to have any agreement
Pay the right price ,Iran will agree

Yes it all depends on Price ...Afgahnistan does not have money to pay Right price that would Iran charge..Otherwise why they are not using it from last 50 or 60 years..Iranians are business minded and not weak they won't allow concessions like this " Under the agreement, Afghan goods transiting through Karachi port are exempt from Pakistani duties or customs tariffs."Even afghanistan will use own trucks to transport from port to there own country..
Who would provide such concessions

Transit is duty free from any country to any country globally it is not only applicable to APTTA (Afghanistan Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement). There are few country where you have to pay fully duty at entry and get it back while the goods are out but for APTTA there are no such conditions. When I was in Kabul, Afghan Trucks were not allowed at Ports, shifting was mandatory, which I think still is.

Technically, transit, transportation and freight cost including duty at destination will make price very high for the consumer at both ends. India, if they export to Afghanistan, is having variety of products that can be cheap even after all these expense but as for Afghanistan, they do not have much to offer.

Great initiative.

I hope the planes are not returning empty handed but taking the poor Afghan refugees back to India where they can enjoy the fruits of being alive.

They will have peace and security in India to flourish.
