SOM vs S400

Both S-400 and Pantsyr S1 are located at sea level in Latakia region of Syria . So SOM cruise missile is capable of flying under the radar level at 2.5-3.5 meter above the land or sea level. The possible SOM attack will come from the sea to land

and will be accomplished under the radar level. Both S-400 and Pantsyr S1 will have no chance to detect this missile


S400 is a system designed to intercept high altitude target, targeting fast moving missile at terrain would be difficult in itself but you will also have to deal with radar horizon which unless you have airborne radar system, maybe SOM missile will be detected at 30 km range at most. assuming that SOM travel at high sub-sonic speed (close to 1 mach), S400 would have 1 minute at most to relocate (which is nigh impossible to pack thing up at that range of time)
