The State of Muslims in China

I am sorry to my Chinese friends but you can see why Pakistan is in the mess it is. Millions of us have had to go abroad to make a living. Millions more are trying to go abroad by hiding, swimming across oceans. There is a reason why we are in the mess we are in. And that is to do with the way we think. We repeat the very failed thinking that fcuked us up, again, again, again, again like a fish in bowl that goes around, around. Every other society or should I say the ones that succeed try a recipe. If it fails they amend the policy. If that fails again theu amend that policy and if that fails they go back to the drawing board and come up with fresh idea. In Pakistan we keep trying to implement the same failed policy again and again like guy smashing his head against the stone wall.

My dad was young student back in early late 1950s and his first job after graduation [1960]was with a US ARMY Corp of Engineers. The big buzz in those days was USA. At the time USA launched a programme to literally build up Pakistan from ground up. In a project that in value easily exceeds CPEC the Americans financed the building up of Pakistan Army, Navy, Airforce. New cities, Capital Islamabad. Dams. Entire military bases housing Pakistan Army formations including entire corps housing 10,000s of troops including all logistical support. My dad as graduate got a job straight away in 1960 employed by US Corp of Engineers. at Kharian Military Cantonment which was as big as city being then built.

You can see the statistics of the time. Because of this US largesse Pakistan economy boomed in the 1960s. This period is still cited by some Pakistanis as brag rights to show how great we were then. At the time USA was also similarly allied with South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey. What happened? We blew it with the Americans. By 1970 the honeymoon with USA was over and both peoples began to drift apart. Today we positively hate USA. However South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey worked with USA and became highly developed countries. South Korea and Taiwan are still strong allies of USA although Turkey is begining to drift.

Today Pakistan has been given another opportunity. A golden opportunity by China and my fear is Pakistan is going to waste this opportunity and become estranged from China like it did with America. It indeed would be a tragedy of in the pursuit of the most dumbest ummah concept to blow this opportunity. But like I said there is reason why Pakistan is in the mess it is. Because we like repeating the same failed recipe again and again.

@Cybernetics

Blast from the past. President Ayub Khan on visit to USA 1960s when the bromance Am-Pak was at it's height. This reminds me of the euphoria you when recently Chinese premier Xi Jinping visited Pakistan and met Nawaz Sharif to announce the CPEC. We all know the state of US and Pakistan relations today. They soured, they cooled and then went hostile.

It got to do with the way Pakistani thinking, it’s all using religion to view things. So the way they view this world is in one dimensional..

I suggest Pakistani learn the board game called weiqi / go. It train your brain to think in multi dimensional! Our ancestors have playing this game thousands of years and it’s imbue our culture and way of thinking

When a weak country like Myanmar had their ways with your rohingya brothers and sisters no Muslim countries in the world can do anything to stop the abuse. Once again China had to step in and put a stop to the rohingya abuse.

First I ever heard of this.

So please stop asking China for help if you hate Chinese so much. If you believe in the debt trap tell your government not to sign contracts with China and go with the west . Bitching about it in this forum isn't going to get real world sympathy.
@rcmj @sweetgrape Chinese need to be weary with the Muslim in its western province.

Asking? Both Pakistan and China are doing what is beneficial to their national interest.

You can hate Muslims as much as you wish, but your government is only going to get closer to Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan.

I applaud the Chinese government for not being reactionary and treading new ground for China in the Muslim world.

Bingo. You have resolved the issue here. If China hates Muslims but despite that self interest drives it to get closer to Pakistan the flip side is Pakistan can hate the athiest Chinese for what they do to Muslims but Pakistan government will get closer to China for national interest.

Bottom line being. Dump umma chumma concept and political Islam. Chase self interest. Adios.

Ps. Read my previous posts. That is exactly I said. I alluded to Chanakya and Macchailvili. Self interest prevails.

If we keep seeking success in others, we will never be able to develop our national identity beyond being puppets.

America chose to abandon Pakistan and even actively involve itself in actions against Pakistan’s national interests for Israeli and Indian bidding. China is doing no such thing.

Pakistan’s mess is a result of bad leadership and poor decisions without taking our interests as a nation into account.

Any friendship with China or anyone else must be based on mutual respect.

Regardless of whether a minority of Pakistanis dislike it, Pakistan is an ideological Islamic state whose purpose is to create a new path for the world’s Muslims. This was Allama Iqbal’s vision.

Even Quaid e Azam stayed that Pakistan holds the key to salvation of the whole Muslim world.

Being a Pakistani is also being a Muslim, whole world view is shaped by our faith and our history.

Chinese posters should know that Pakistan is the successor state of the Mughal empire, whose ancestors ruled China, and Muslims had been ruling the European West for almost 500 years.

We don’t have any inferiority complex to the West or China, and civilizationally we are on par or even greater. Our greatest empires spanned three continents, when we led the world in science for almost 1,000 years.

First I disagree with you but even if you are right I am certain the government of Pakistan is emphatically not following your prescription "new path for world's Muslims". We are beggars who can't feed ourselves and you talk about global Muslims. And before going all global can you please call somebody in Islamabad and give Pakistani Afghans many born in Pakistan, living for decades Pakistani nationality? Can you do that before you go global with your ummah love. You know charity starts at home right. Please read this article. Prove to Ahmed Fawad your vision about global ummah and Islam.

Sitting in Islamabad’s most-loved Burning Brownie cafe, light-eyed, 27-year-old, Ahmad Fawad could easily pass for a local ethnic Pakhtun. But his paternal roots can be traced to the Tajik community of Afghanistan based in Herat. That is not where his heart is, however — not anymore.

Don't bother believing idiotic lies about the poor Uyghur. They're only in trouble for their ISIS and terrorist sympathies. Most of the Uyghur are doing fine along with almost all Muslims in China.

I enjoy bugging a few people here because they don't know the real situation in China. Only believing what their ummah tell them or what they read from western propaganda. Im fortunate that I am able to travel to many parts of the world and see first hand how things really are and form my own judgement.

I hope CPC realize their mistakes and correct it ASAP.

Which one?

Back in the "6 warnings" thread, the 7 minute "China History" vid, would love a critique :-)

I don't know about all pakistanis people but I did feel your inferiority complex in a very hilarious way.Why don't you say pakistan is the successor state of the Great Britain which defeated china in the Opium war?

Man,I mean seriously, pls grow up.I admit there was a time some chinese like to say how glory ancient china was, it invented Gunpowder, paper, printing, and the compass bla bla bla. that was china in it's weakest time. But as china grow stronger and stronger you will see fewer and fewer chinese bragging about ancient glory ,instead ,to focus on chinese modern technology and achievement.

So how to get rid of inferiority complex? The only answer is to become strong. The more strong you are the less you will brag about your past . I saw this trend exist in all nations or races or religions in the world through my eyes.no exception

Finally one day you will stop bragging about your past and focus on reality.I believe so,You just need time to grow and pakistan also need time to grow and eventually get rid of this mentality

Best wishes to you
