I do not deny CO2 is a greenhouse gas, but to say it can increase Earth's temperature in any non negligible way is nothing but stupid. CO2 has 3 very narrow infrared absorption bands. It is saturated and overlaps with water vapor. Remember John Kerry said there be no Arctic sea ice by 2013? That has come and gone. No such thing as melting of Arctic sea ice. If you want to wait till 2100 and see what the weather will be, I can guarantee you it will be the same as now, no matter what CO2 level will be.

If you are not convinced, you can play around with the well established MODTRAN model, put in whatever CO2 level and see the amount of outgoing infrared from the Earth's surface.

No it's not. There is essentially 0 difference between 280 ppm of CO2 and 1000 ppm of CO2.

I suggest you try this for yourself. Set Altitude to 0 km, Looking Down. First input 280 ppm of CO2. Then input 1000 ppm of CO2. There is no change in surface temperature up to 1 decimal place. The MODTRAN model is accepted by all scientists.

The Earth's warming is essentially completely caused by its atmospheric pressure, not by its greenhouse gases. Jupiter has no greenhouse gases, yet Jupiter has a surface temperature of nearly 10,000 C because of its very high atmospheric pressure.

If you are still not convinced, you can get yourself a CO2 meter and do an experiment. Measure the temperature in your room when CO2 is at say 450 ppm, then stay in your room for a few hours so the CO2 level climbs to say 800 ppm because of breathing and measure the temperature again. I can guarantee you there would be 0 change in temperature. 0

They take the tip of the iceberg of the science and run with it. But the tip of the iceberg is just that, the tip. i like how you ask people to set altitude to 0, then have the model default on "looking down".

for people who don't know

this first of all MODTRAN has nothing to do with directly predicting the temperature in and of itself, it measure earth's atmosphere, specifically absorption and emission of infrared light

secondly, this idiot wants you to set altitude to 0, looking down, meaning you are assuming an atmosphere with 0 depth(thickness), of course nothing's gonna change, and thusly the intensity curve will closely follow a black-body ideal curve no matter what atmospheric component you change...because you are basically assuming no atmosphere at all.
(an analogy: its like science saying "running against the wind will slow you down" and he says "no it doesn't here use this model but assume you are in a vacuum. change the "wind speed" see you running speed doesn't change at all!")

if you actually used the model program correctly, you will see dips in the intensity curve, which widen as more CO2 in ppm is assumed
