The sad history of International Mother Tongue Day

Unfortunately a short temper, impatience and arrogance are the national weakness of Pakistan. These things are holding Pakistan back and are responsible for every disaster they have faced, and the problems they are facing now. Pakistanis should take note of it and try to keep a cool head always. Remember, the Prophet(PBUH), said,

1) The strong man is not he who defeats the other in a wrestling match, but the strong man is he who can control his temper when angry
2) When you are angry, keep silent.

Some point need to be cleared. RAW was created in 1968 if I am not wrong. at 1950 hardly India had any influence on east Pakistan. The language movement has started as majority of the people were Bengali speaker. But some punjabi person initiated some rule that Urdu should be the only language in Pakistan where Bengali people were not even consulted and their opinion were not taken in this regard. This is one of the major reason for the language movement. Other then that Bengali people had their own language and culture and heritage and which is much older then Urdu which is mostly a new foreigners language mix up of Turk, Farsi and Arabic. N regarding bharti influence obviously they did. But do not forget it always takes two to make a noise. Some punjabi rulers intention to suppress the Bengali laid the door open for the bhartis to inter fear or to exploit the disappointment of the Bangladeshi population. Shaikh mujib is a past story. Every one remember him only for his part in the liberation war but not for his rule. Like many other ruler or dictator he did many corruption, brutality and initiated bakhshal. But this has nothing to do with language movement.

RAW?? India??? Dear I never talked Indian influence on East Pakistani Muslims in my post anywhere, you can check again, I don’t know what you are talking, Its totally “gibberish” on your part. IMHO, They are totally independent in their views, actions and planning for their cause right from the beginning. I think you misread my post somewhere.

U rightly stated that United Pakistan Breakup movement starts from 52 but I think make it more appropriate right and start it from 48. Now here I ask you a simple question….If you people are so obsessed with your language why don’t you join Pakistan movement in the first place, which is solely based on Religion? You should explicitly states your ideals at least one year earlier...didn't you....Again you play politics…Plain and simple.

Ohhhh I see….You want a country for Muslims but…but….but….with Bengali language and traditions imprinted loud and clear, soooorrrryyy we didn’t understands your logic neither pre 47, in 48 nor in 52, Sorry again.

We West Pakistanis created Pakistan only for one reason…..that we are Muslims….no matter whate we are after it…Plain and simple and sure we will kept it as it is…If you people have second thought on your ideology…we can meet somewhere down the line and I’m sure we will…Inshallah!!!

Pakistan’s Idealogy and its creation in 47 is far ahead of its time….but now rest of the Muslim world joining us day by day the jasmine revolution will eventually engulfed you very soon…!!!

Urdu is Islam friendly language? Care to explain?...

Two reasons that can't be ignored:

1 - It's the script that binds Muslims to the Qur aan, not the language. Urdu builds upon the Farsi script which built upon the Arabic one. Possible changing to the roman script in current times would create a disconnect.

2 - It comes as a shocker to many, but Urdu is the vesicle of the most amount of Islamic scholarship after Arabic. It already surpassed Farsi in this respect in later Mughal times - a testimony to the hard work and the desire for knowledge of the scholars of SC Asia. Still today, students in non-Urdu-speaking countries like Afghanistan and Bangladesh still refer to books written in Urdu.

Hope we both learnt something.

.
...
By the way, I think Pakistanis whose native language is not Urdu sound better speaking Urdu than the native Urdu speakers (who sound just like indians of bollywood when speaking this language).
You're stretching your generalization WAY beyond what is due mate. You need better 'native Urdu speaker' friends that's all.

.
So I think its time to treat Balochis fairly this time.

What are the diff mother tongues in pakistan?

They are already been treated fairly, at least much more fairly than NE and IOK. It is also time that you better quit trolling and stop brining irrelevant BS between the thread.

.
So I think its time Indians treat the people of Assam, Khalistan, and India Occupied Jammu and Kashmir fairly.

And by the way, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) had a larger population than all of West Pakistan (now Pakistan) combined in 1971. Balochistan is Pakistan's least populated province that is connected to all of the provinces of Pakistan unlike Bangladesh which was connected to arch-rival india in all four corners. Bangladesh shouldn't have been part of Pakistan in the first place, I understand that the Bengali Muslims wanted to get away from you indians badly too in 1947.

No need to give him the reality check. I like their delusion.;)

Shaikh mujib was not in any leading position that he would have any policy to devide Pakistan from the beginning. Do not forget this is Bangladesh where the idea of creation Pakistan was formed and by a Bengali. This is some bigotic then ruler tried to undermine majority of pakistans population and their language even without consulting with them. Try to accept facts where then pakistani policy makers did mistake.

Apparently Mujib wasn't all innocent. Pakistani establishment was right not to handover power to him since he was main conspirator to divide Pakistan with the help of Bharti.

Dhaka, Feb 23 (bdnews24.com)—An accused in the Agartala Conspiracy Case, deputy speaker Shawkat Ali, has told parliament that the charges brought against the accused were not false.

Ali, at the end of a point of order in Wednesday's session, said, "The charges against us read out on the first day of hearing in the case were absolutely right."

"We formed a Sangram Parishad led by Bangabandhu to free East Pakistan through armed protest," he said.

During the point of order session, senior Awami League leader Tofail Ahmed recounted the days before and after the withdrawal of the case on Feb 22, 1969.

He said that the country would not be independent if the case was not filed. "It was not a fake case."

Addressing the deputy speaker, he said, "You planned to liberate the country."

Earlier in a discussion organised at Dhaka University's Senate Bhaban marking the Agartala Case Withdrawal Day, Tofail said the accused in the Agartala case had actually laid the foundation of the country's independence.

Agartala Conspiracy Case was a sedition case filed by the Pakistan government against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, leader of the then East Pakistan Awami League, and 34 others.

Can anyone explain me what has AL, bnp, kashmir, balochis,Mujeeb etc or anyone has anything to do with pre 1952 language movement? It was all staged by the students at TSC.

The message is clear, love your language be it Bangla,English, Urdu,Hindi, french whatever. Saw a french crying on 21 February this year. She was just overwhelmed by the love we share for our language.

Leave out the politics and history becoz that would only seem like Deja Vu.

Yes language movement plays an important role... political and economic reasons also were the main reason... east Pakistan had majority population in the Pakistan... but west pakistan was getting majority of the budget and they were occupying all the big position... This seemed to majority of the east pakistani population a discrimination against them...

I wanted to remind you 1 thing this is the muslim of east pakistan that had initiated the idea of a separate muslim state and they supported it that is why the muslim majority country pakistan came in to existence... n from where you got the idea being a muslim one can not keep his own culture, language or tradition or one need to give them up??? Even india had become a hindu country but if you look at that country there are different people at different region with different culture and tradition... n there are many countries like this and canada is also one where I am living... it did not destroys the countries or separate it...

As east pakistan had majority of the population so before taking any decision on national matters they should have been consulted but nothing was done as such...

We West Pakistanis created Pakistan only for one reason…..that we are Muslims….no matter whate we are after it…Plain and simple and sure we will kept it as it is…If you people have second thought on your ideology…we can meet somewhere down the line and I’m sure we will…Inshallah!!!

Need a correction... both east and west pakistani muslims wanted a separate state not just muslim of west pakistan... n the idea even came from a east pakistani muslim... and as I have told you earlier muslim majority does not mean that one will have to give up their culture and tradition... just look at Indonesia, turkey, nigeria, bangladesh etc... all these countries are from different culture and tradition but every one is muslim and I will say in some cases they are more religious and devoted muslims then the people of saudi arabiya...

This was one of the biggest mistake that your west pakistans that time ruler failed to understand...

Why he was wanting it I described it in my last post and that was not only his demand but also the demand of the people of bangladesh due to political and economic oppression by the west pakistani ruler despite east pakistan had majority of the population...

N remember 1 thing here we are talking about 1952 language movement ... not 1969... in 1952 shaikh mujib was not in leading position and the movemant was started by some university student...

N regarding handing over power to shaikh mujib... you must remember that he was allowed to take part in the election and he won it... so there were no reason to not allowing him to the power... other then some bigotry... of yahya khan..
