I hope you won't end up offending other Afghans... If I say something like Punjab and Pakistan are synonymous, I am sure it will offend lots of Pakistanis..

I think the Tajiks make up 30%, i am not too sure, but this number looks correct as i have seen it in a few other places.

Historically, Yes they are. Hell, even Pashto is considered Afghani.
Google the word "Pashtun" and all you would see is Afghan left and right, ask yourself why? Why are Tajiks,screaming and crying to change the name of Afghanistan? Because they know they can not be Afghan since historically, Afghan meant Pashtun.

I'm not trying to throw salt on the wounds, But even PAKISTAN considers Pashtuns as AFGHAN by ethnic group, In the tribal area, the I-D's that are given out list Pashtun as Afghan by ethnic group.

So now we have 2 things present,

Afghan by ethnic (Pashtun)
Afghan by nationality.


You should know which one you fall under.

When someone asks you about your history who do you talk about? All Pashtun historical figures have proudly acknowledged that they are Afghan(Which you are as well). I am sure if the argument comes to history, you are quick to start quoting Pashtuns(Afghans) who have conquered parts of Persia and have ruled modern day Pakistan and parts of India.
