The U.S. and Pakistan continue to build on their improving relationship and both share a common stance against terrorism. It is important for our officials to meet regularly and address any shared concerns and to prevent any issues from arising.

Several steps have been taken to further enhance our association. For example: our senior officials met in Islamabad last month to discuss trade promotion efforts, entrepreneurship, diversification of agriculture, intellectual property rights, and initiatives to boost investment under the bilateral Joint Action Plan, a plan created by President Obama and Prime Minister Sharif in 2013 to boost two-way trade and investment. What other steps do you think should be taken to further improve our relationship?

They can never be in right direction till American behave like masters.

Why this sudden realisation and concern regarding improving relations with Pak? Is Chinese visit hurting a lot? I think...tht now President Obama may also want to visit Pak...in the coming months..just to negate the impact of Chinese President visit... Bcoz i think US wouldnt want Pak to go completely into China axis.. US wants Pk to continue to have dependancy on US... Tht is the reason they approved military sale to Pak, of Viper and others..bcoz they dont want Pak to completely lose dependance on US... Ater the protocol given to Chinese President by Pak, i think US will also want to give further lollipops to Pak, and i wont be surprised if Obama comes to Pak in the coming months....

Why there is a sudden love for Pakistan, we have been your ally since our country came into being, but how come all your investments are going to our enemy not to your time tested ally, who sacrificed a lot.

It's time for your country to do more.

We are a paranoid nation,,,, and this has not happened without any reason,,,, we have always lost at the bargaining table and need some aggressive diplomacy. Tangible gains no hollow promises

US is a very important country. US since the birth of Pakistan has helped it economically and militarily. For a very long time, our perception about Communism was the same.

At the same time, Pakistan has felt betrayed by US. The Pressler Amendment and unjust sanctions applied as a consequence live very vividly in Pakistanis mindset.

Then we also must realize that US is a powerful country which has its interests beyond our region. And nations must interact without emotions. Nation are not people and at times best friends have interests that either overlap or intersect.

Instead of bad mouthing US, I would advise Pakistanis to make our nation stronger. We are almost 70 years old and the grievances we have with other nation is in part because of our over dependence on others when the focus should be on becoming more and more independent. This cant be achieved without strong economy. On this count, we have not done well.

Is that why xenophobic drivel against Pakistan is being aired on US news channels? Practice what you preach. Takes two to tango.

.
Its not that USA really want to have relationship with Pakistan but due to geological position and being a powerhouse among Islamic nations Pakistan is too good and big for USA to just let go as

You guys know very well influence of Uncle sam is finishing

.
If US want to establish good relation then its ok Pakistan should maintain good relations with all countries.

US continued engagement in areas other than security is heartening indeed. US and Pakistan must diversify their cooperation and take benefit of an old relationship. Unfortunately Pakistan in the past have been seen through security prism only thus full benefits of people to people engagement were not attained.

There is a sense of optimism in Pakistan today. While terrorism and extremism are not fully defeated, it is diminishing. Chinese economic corridor will likely stimulate economic activity. This really isn't a bad news for US. I think US should position herself to take advantage of emerging economic opportunity. I would like to see US companies setting up business close to this corridor. For example US has a robust car industry. Labour in China is no longer cheapest and in Pakistan it is. This will give access to untapped markets like Pakistan, Afghanistan, entire Cental Asia as well as Middle East and South West China.

US has some of the best Universities. It receives students from Pakistan, China and Middle East. These students go on to find job in US. What about setting up campuses of US universities in Pakistan? That would benifit both nations as well as the region. It will also invigorate academic landscape of Pakistan. Give them something to compete against and improve in process.

In all the violence that happened in my region, art has been a silent casualty. While there has been artistic and cultural exchanges, I think a lot more needs to be done. Our people need some soothing of nerves, some semblance of normalcy to get in touch with softer side of human nature. Cultural events need to get out of embassies and interact with common Pakistanis. What about setting up training facilities for our film technicians? Maybe teaching modern techniques to our theatre artists who could really penetrate into our society? Maybe Urdu translations of some great works of US writers or manufacturing of music instruments to be used at our schools? Possibilities are endless but it will require some willingness on US part.

I hope US sees Pak-China corridor as an opportunity rather than a competition for its influence. They could benefit from it.

No they are not Ali bhai. Why did it took so long to approve Zulu sale? Words are wind, janab.

You wanna see a relationship headed in the right direction? Take a look at our relations with China. We just got 3 Z10s for evaluation and that proves Pakistan's accessibility to China's top notch weapons. The same cannot be said about US.

Why is it that despite the nature of our alliance, US failed to supply a much needed weapon that was to used for securing the AF-PAK border?
