What percentage of turkish people have eastern european ancestry?

Much millions but I don't think anybody counted the exact numbers. Most of them came after Balkan Wars, migration continued after that as well, until recently we were still getting immigrants from Bulgaria.

Janissary legacy was corrupted when they started giving them right to marry, have property, and other rights. It reminds me of the Jedi code of the movie star wars. I think Star Wars stole jedi code from Janissary. Jedi were also not allowed to marry in the movie.Also, the janissary were executed just the same way the jedi were all mass executed in the movie Interesting fact

No, the meaning of Janissary or Yeniceri in Turkish means "new soldier"

Just very interested in the racial and ethnic admixture of your country, bro. I have a student in a class that i teach and she's from Ankara, Turkey. I didn't expect her to be Turkish because she looks white, not even middle eastern phenotype or central asian phenotype. I'm guessing she might be of Greek decent or Eastern European (Bulgarian, Albanian, Romanian etc)?

You have every type of People in Turkey, im also white and have green/brown eyes for exsample, Turks with blue eyes are common in western parts, you can also find eastern asiatic looking Turks.
Turks have mixed with Europeans, Arabs, Persians and local people of Anatolia when they came from Central Asia.

Ankara is my home town.

In general Turks are not as dark as Arabs also we are not as white as Russians. We look more like Greeks, Italians (Mediterranean people)

But if you go to the norther island of Hokkaido, there is a noticeable beauty of the local people. Northern Japan was once occupied by a caucasian group of people known as Ainu, and they have intermarried with the waves of Japanese immigrants into northern Japan. This produces a very unique 'northern Japanese' beauty.

The Ainu once inhabited central Eurasia, and moved into present day Eastern Russia , Kuril Islands and as deep as southern Hokkaido.

It is very common to see Northern Japanese to have hazel eyes, light blue-grey eyes, and are taller than most Japanese. They are indeed very unique and beautiful !

If there was ever a military force that could influence the decisions of kings and princes it was these guys. Strong,well trained and military thinkers the janissary were a force to be reckoned with in europe. One of the most well-trained military force in the world and the true secret behind the strength of the ottoman emipre ( the longest running muslim empire and one of the longest lasting empires in history).

The Janissary,s preferred rulers who were interested in wars and expansion of the Ottoman empires. They have been known to remove and install princes that they desired and their backing was required if you wanted the throne of the ottomans. Without their blessings it was not possible.

On a lighter note our ISI is quite similar to the Janissary's. A well trained force which is known for its strength around the world and has been involved in removal of leaders and installation of leaders at will. PP

They are a proud segment in the turkic history and the muslim history. Perhaps turkey should raise them again in the form of Commandos ofcourse with less political power.

The power,corruption and political games were what led to their decline and as their strength diminished so did the Ottoman's which is proof of how important a role they played in their rise.
