The Only Way to World Peace is an Islamic Union

@kalu_miah

You would have two options, either Indonesia block along with Maldives or ECO with Pakistan, Iran and Turkey.

I'm not sure if Hasina would be able to convince R&AW over this. ;)

India and Sri Lanka can't join such a structure as they are not Muslim majority states.

Sorry, there are way to many sectarian, racial and ideological differences to make this possible. How does this take majority Muslim nations forward i.e. that we have a union amongst Muslims, that subtly excludes non-Muslims? Muslim countries should venture out and form trade, currency, defence unions, with nations that will benefit them and whom they can give assistance to . You don't need an Islamic union for that.
Cant people just brush aside their migraines ...well if you stop going to your mullah, peer, ustaz, sheikh or whatever names they come in today....Muslims can be much at peace and since most of the unrest is in Muslim states...it would be considered World peace......

No you dont need a Muslim union for that but you need Muslim union for World peace to end barbaric butchering of soo many people because some Mullah cant answer a question which another can or one says yellow while other says black...and everyone goes to war over it:

Once there was a community of Muslims who were small in number yet large in iman and strong in action. So much so that, the kufaar [non-believers] could not defeat them in battle even though they had the Muslims out numbered.
One day a young man from the kufaar pretended to enter into Islam and he went to the big sheik [learned man] in one part of the city and listened to his teaching of the Quran. The subject happened to be on the chapter of the Quran called Al Kahaf (the Cave, #18].

When the sheik completed his talk he offered a chance for the brothers present to ask some questions. When it came the turn of the kafar, he asked the sheik the question:

“Sir, in the story of the ‘sleepers’ in the cave, there is mention of a dog. And I was wondering if I might inquire as to what color the dog might have been? I hope you don’t mind my asking, especially if it is something that maybe you don’t know the answer to.”

Immediately the sheik says to the young man, “That’s no problem at all, everyone should know that the dog was YELLOW.”

The young man said, “Are you sure? I mean, could it have been another color?”

“No.” replied the old sheik, “It was definitely YELLOW.” Once again the young man thanked him and when on his way.

The next night the young kafr man went to the other side of town and sat in another gathering of knowledge and they too were discussing different things about verses in the Quran.

So when it came time for the teacher to give each person attending, the opportunity to ask a question, the kafr man raised his hand and then asked the question, “In the chapter about the “Cave”, the sleepers are mentioned in different numbers but each time there is a reference to their dog as being counted along with them. Now I was wondering whether or not anyone of knowledge has ever made any reference to what the color the dog might have been?”

The sheik immediately said, “Yes! The dog in this story in the Quran was BLACK.”

The young kafar man was pleased and continued, “Sir, are you quite certain that the color of the dog mentioned in the story was BLACK?”

“Young man,” he quickly replied, “I’ll stake my reputation on that as a fact.

“Thank you, sir.” Said the young man.

The next night the kafar posing as a Muslim went back to the first sheik and then when it came time for the questions and answers he raised his hand and asked, “Sheik, may Allah reward you for all your effort and knowledge and for sharing it with us. Could you maybe remind me about the answer to the question the other night about the color of the dog in the cave in Surah Al-Kahaf?” (Holy Quran: Chapter 18).

The sheik said, “There is no doubt whatsoever amongst the great scholars of Islam on this question. The dog was YELLOW. And anyone who says other than this has no knowledge.

With that the young man spoke up again and said, “Sir, what would you say if someone else said that he would stake his reputation of being a scholar in Islam on the fact that the dog is not yellow, but rather that the dog is most certainly BLACK?”

The sheik quickly replied, “Then his reputation is not that of a scholar but one of a fool.”

Now the next time the kafr man went to the sheik that was upholding the idea of the dog being BLACK, he told the sheik that the sheik on the other side of town was calling him names and saying that he had no knowledge of Islam and that for sure that the dog was YELLOW. The old sheik became angry and shouted, “You tell him, that I said he is the one without knowledge. I’m the one who graduated from the greatest of schools of Islam, while he is but a fool.”

The plan was working. Before long the community was divided into two groups. Each group was claiming that their sheik was the one with the correct answer.

Fighting broke out in the streets and the Muslims began attacking each other all over the city. Everyone became involved to the extent that there was not a single person who was excluded from this terrible situation. Screaming, shouting, hitting and fighting were everywhere.

And then it happened. The kafr went back out to his people and told them, “Let us go to fight them now. You will now find them most easy to defeat.”

And that is exactly what they did.

You see when divided you can easily be fooled for nothing .....Nowhere does it mention the colour of the dog yet that became the point of separation for some! :tsk:

I still don't get how muslim unity will bring more peace..
BTW, inspite of all the conflicts and violence in the world today, humankind has been most peaceful today than it has been ever in history. An average human today is less likely to have a violent death than ever before..

Exactly. The world has never been more peaceful including large, if not most parts, of the Muslim world. The only difference is that we get to hear about even the slightest bloodshed from the entire world nowadays due to the technology while this was impossible just 80 years ago. This gives an false idea of everything being rosy in the past while nothing could be further from the truth if you actually take a look at the real data.

Instead of turning to foreign powers for aid, Muslim countries can rely on eachother for help. I've noticed that many countries in the ME which have turned to the US or USSR for support had to carry out orders and directives which were in some cases detrimental to themselves. If we can have mutual assistance then we won't suffer as much. I still find a pan-Afro-Asiatic union much more attractive.

But the dog will always be ''black'' or ''yellow'',nothing will change that.
Even without outside interference.
Just look at the colours;Sunni,Shia,Alewi,Ahmedi etc...
How/when are they going to decide on ONE colour for all?

Islamic union is not the way for World peace.

Peace starts with tolerance.
And tolerance dosnt have place for.
1)My God is the only God
2)My religion is the only true religion
3)My race is the greatest race and others are inferior

We can have union of countries for betterment of the people.

1)My God is the only God
2)My religion is the only true religion

When it's not being rubbed in others' faces and people aren't forced to practise it, it doesn't matter much. Most religions preach the same message.

3)My race is the greatest race and others are inferior

Where did you learn that Islam has a place for racism?

When they realize that their proud BS sheikhs were talking crap as the colour of the dog is never mentioned anywhere ....when sheikhs learn to swallow their pride and not sell religion for fellow worshipers or people who rely on them!!

This one certainly has worked slowly but in the right direction towards the objective of boosting free trade in the member states. ECO has two major projects currently in works.

  • Gul Logistical Train - Linking Islamabad with Ankara
  • Linking landlocked C.Asian member states to Bandar Abbas and Gwadar.
We need to give due importance to ECO's development into a free trade block. Start military cooperation through anti terrorism and anti piracy drills and built it up from there. If ECO is run properly it has a better potential than OIC because all nations are geographically linked and except a few, all other states get along with each other very well.

Developing-8 (D-8) countries can help OIC members by focusing on developing their economies and connectivities, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said.

She expressed her view when visiting D-8 Secretary General Dr Sayed Alo Mohammad Mousavi met at her office on Tuesday.
D-8 countries should also focus on overall development of the OIC states by undertaking realistic programmes, she was quoted as saying by her Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury after the meeting.
The D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation members are Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
“The prime minister underscored the need for taking joint venture initiatives using the resources of the member countries in ensuring development,” Chowdhury said.
She advised D-8 members to share their experiences in boosting trade and industry for their mutual benefits, he said.
The organisation, she said, should find ways to take up realistic projects for development.
Mousavi invited Hasina to Turkey for the next D-8 summit to be held in December and praised her role as a founding member of the organisation.
He also briefed her on their progress.
D-8, he said, completed its policy level phase in the 16 years since its inception.
“It is now working on the tangible development of policy making on agriculture, transport, trade, economy, civil aviation, shipping, energy and industry sector,” Chowdhury quoted Mousavi as saying.
Bangladesh is set to take over D-8’s presidency in 2018."

Developing 8 (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation

"ECO

D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 6 October 2011, in Istanbul. The agreement was signed by Secretary-General of D-8 Dr. Widi A. Pratikto and Secretary-General of ECO M. Yahya Maroofi.

According to the MoU, the two organizations wish to strengthen their cooperation in the Trade, Transport, Energy, Agriculture, Food Security, Industrial Cooperation and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development. These are crucial sectors to further promote cooperation and contribute to economic development and social progress in the two organization’s respective member countries, many of which constitute an important crossroad for corridors connecting Europe, Africa and Asia.

The two Secretary-Generals also have highlighted the need to exchange of information, knowledge, best practices and experiences. The MOU represents a desire by all parties for a cooperative relationship to strengthen each other’s cooperations. The MoU shall enter into force upon its signature. To ensure efficient and timely carrying out of planned activities, the two organizations will conduct joint mid-term reviews of the implementation of the MoU and consider further cooperation activities.

Both D-8 and ECO can run in parallel and complement each other and keep working together, just like other initiatives, such as GCC, Arab League and Sub-saharan Muslim Africa.

A big NO for a so called Islamic Union.

According to the Constitution of Turkey, Turkey is a democratic secular Republic. Joining a union with pure religious ideologies is itself would be breaking the constitution.

3,6% of the population of the Republic of Turkey consists by non-muslims. Let alone one percent, for the sake of every single compatriot..No.

The government's current only union matter is the European Union. .(Nor we or them want Turkey in)

But the only National Policy about a union is bringing Turkic nations in to a one single body, union, a federative Turkish state. That was, is and always will be our national priority. As for reality, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan are on consideration. Hence our brethrens have already their capitulations in all aspects including defense, military aid and economic aid, modernisation.

Not some religious bullshit. Keep it to yourselves.

ECO looks promising, better then all the other ideas, less frictìon between the countries.
This could be a good block, all countries have simular cultures.
