The Iraqi Air Force will receive 13 additional F-16 aircraft in 2019, bringing to 34 the number of fighters operated by the service. Quoted by the Arabic-language satellite TV channel Al-Hurra, Brig. Gen. Andrew Croft, deputy air commander of CJTF-OIR’s land component said that the new aircraft will increase Baghdad’s capabilities in eliminating terrorist organizations and will be strengthened by International training, scheduled to take place at Balad Air Base. In January, Sallyport Global was awarded a $400 million foreign military sale (FMS) contract to support Iraq’s F-16 mission at Balad, with work to include comprehensive life and logistics support, security, construction, and base operation support services up until January 2019.

I am in love with this machine despite love of this bleed our air force for a long time and ghost still haunting us.
They will be in limited numbers (so the bleeding will stop after this last batch), since the US bans the Amraams BVR missiles for Iraq..just like it did with Egypt.. watch out for the new Mig-35 and most likely the SU-35..with no limitations on weapons..

Iraq just got its first T-90S delivered and started negotiating for the S-400.. so it is logical that it will go for modern Russian fighter aircrafts.. mostly because of the US limitations on weapons.. and maybe other reasons too..

Iraq's F-16's lack more than Egypt's F-16's.

Iraq's F16's lack
-AIM-120 (AIM-7 instead)
-AIM-9X (instead comes with an older AIM-9L/M)
-No JDAM, instead GBU paveway bombs
-No anti-radiation missiles

Waste of money in the name of solidifying US-Iraqi relations.

Pretty much the same thing as the EAF F-16s, my friend, besides the AGM-88 HARMs, that's about it.

But this thing is a beauty, especially with that paint scheme.

It's unfortunate, especially for Egypt with its large F-16 fleet. Adding AIM-120, AIM-9X would increase EAF capabilities immensely.

At least people like the livery
