Assume that microwaved food causes cancer, which is not proven to date, the point here is that without competition, SOEs are not motivated to innovate, whether it is the microwave oven or cell phone, another device that is alleged to cause brain cancer. Given a goal and the national resources, NASA led a conglomerate of commercial entities and landed Americans on the Moon, a great leap over Sputnik, the first man-made satellite.
