"reservations" are not socialist by any measure and originate from the western "welfare state" idea.
"reservations" do not look at social problems at society level, system level. and therefore they did not remove any of india's social and economic problems since their introduction, what, 25 years ago??
"reservations" is a typical indian idea that introduces more complications into a complicated and wrong system, and continues it when in fact the wrong system itself had to entirely replaced, brought down, eradicated.
"reservations" pushed "low caste" people into colleges which give degrees, when in fact the government had to remove that aspect of hinduism, and remove the system of college degrees whose only use of course is to obtain jobs, and jobs keeps people in middle-class poverty for generations.
"reservations" pushed many burqa-beard indian muslims into those same colleges and jobs in a capitalist nation, when in fact indian muslims should have burnt their burqas, shaved their beards, and using the inspiration of great socialist muslim leaders like iqbal, nasser, muammar gaddafi, saddam... should have launched a revolution to turn india into a muslim socialist society.
"reservations" has only further pushed more indians into indian poverty and general ignorance of real progress.
we know very well which were and are socialist nations... soviet union, prc, dprk, democratic people's republic of afghanistan, nasser's egypt, libyan jamahiriya, pre-1991 somalia, east germany, cuba, venezuela, saddam's iraq, syria... does india look like any of these nations??
