New Recruit
Does Australia have the resources to deploy F-18 all the way to Indonesia? You need AC for that which Australia lacks.
And that is what I am saying. Thanks to alliances Australia is as good as invincible. But credit goes to US, UK not to Australia alone.
Indonesia cannot threaten Australia. Fighting Australia means fighting New Zealand, UK, US and by default whole NATO. Nobody is going to take the risk. Australia is more a political power because of its alliances and resources, I guess you guys have some truckloads of uranium which gives you a very good leverage. Same like oil does for Saudis.

We can reach Indonesia with our F18s, we also have 2 helicopter aircraft carriers soon to be in operation (1 is already completed) who can field F35s.
However our army is too small to invade Indonesia and is only designed to fight alongside the US as a partner. Australia has fought in every major conflict the US has been involved in since WW2, this is the armies only job.
We could hold off any power from invading us without US help, aside from the US itself. This may chance soon as China develops a blue water navy.
Perhaps Japan too could force its way through our waters, but it would be precarious for them, with 6 large advanced submarines and our navy/airforce to contend with (Japan has no aircraft carriers, aside from ones fitted out for solely helicopters). Japan like us is built only for self defense, it has limited ability to invade countries (though in a prolonged war it could easily change that). Japan too is an ally of ours, we are more likely to be fighting together than against each other.
Our main allies these days are Japan and the US. The UK is too far away and not the naval power it once was. They probably could not send enough help or help in time to matter in a large conflict. But for sure politically they would try and protect us (through the UNSC etc). All western countries usually stick together these days when it matters.
My condolences dude, its always hard to loose relatives, may they rest in peace.Hello my friend. Yeah, long time. I missed you and my other friends here. I hope all is well My Dad and Grandmother both passed within a month. For a while, I was not doing very well and had basically retreated from life.
Thankfully my friends, family and spirituality helped pull me out of an abyss and I'm doing a lot better now.
my views; The EU part is most probably not going to happen, unless in the future the EU comes begging to us with offers, which Turkey should decline imo. Turkey already has special trade treaties with the EU and imo the EU's democratic reforms were/are a good guideline, I just don't see what critical advantages we can can gain from entering the EU. Plus if Turkey keeps rising the EU will be an economical collective burden. Also, too much affiliation with one side is not good for the strategic geopolitical positioning of Turkey. We first need to fix our economy.EU countries' economies bumped up to trillion dollars after they formed the EU. When we get into the EU, our economy will also grow a hell lot considering that of we have now.
Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia. All of these three countries' economies are mostly dependent on natural resources. We do not have that luxury.
If we can really make up to a $2.000.000.000.000 worth of GDP till 2023, before we join the EU, then we will break all the limits after we join it!
And then we will have more flexibility regarding adjusting our defense budget.
condolences. your presence was missed in the Turkish section. Hope everything will be alright for you from now.Hello my friend. Yeah, long time. I missed you and my other friends here. If your are making selection on these factors, then you should place Israel on no.1 position.
according to her Geographical location..
We get 35-40 million tourists every year, and that would escalate to 100 million all of a sudden.Turkey already has special trade treaties with the EU and imo the EU's democratic reforms were/are a good guideline, I just don't see what critical advantages we can can gain from entering the EU.

How come? We are like.. you know... IN NATO!! And look, we are already allied with Russia and China. Also, too much affiliation with one side is not good for the strategic geopolitical positioning of Turkey.
yes, your are right they have best pilots second to none...They do have the best pilots.
Russia became kind because the sanctions hit them hard, you can only trust if they maintain their attitude also in good times and not only when they need trade partners, they were planning a opposite pipeline to Nabucco before Ukraine crisis after all.How come? We are like.. you know... IN NATO!! And look, we are already allied with Russia and China.
And there is literally no law saying that members of the EU cannot be members of Eurasia or SCO.
Mind you, we are already like members of both of those organizations. We are a participant in SCO and act like a member of Eurasia.
What we will get is a huge part of EU congress with our representatives, which will make the EU unable to pass a law/decision without our support.
Both Turkey and Pakistan have close military ties. Does Pakistan have its officers training in Turkey or vice-versa?
