The most effective unarmed and knife fighting for Pakistan Army

For civilian Police forces or even close protection teams having command of such skills is very important, no question about it.Kudos
Looks like Pak army already incorporates basic levels of martial arts into their training. This was aired nearly a decade ago

This is mainly for show as non of these moves would be effective against a non compliant opponent.Kudos
Certainly agree police and law enforcement agencies including Rangers and FC should have more martial arts, takedown and disarming training as they have more interaction with the public and face urban warfare.

Operatives invloved in behind enemy lines work, who must survive and accomplish their mission no matter what circumstances they find themselves in, would be masters of hand to hand combat. Sometimes an assassination is best done with a quick, clean swipe of the knife to cut the vocal chords quickly and then the main arteries. There is a reason why upper body strength is thoroughly tested in SSG training.

A silencer would be more effective in 99.99% cases.

Much of our training is modeled after US special forces and they definitely get trained in hand to hand. The normal kit for a SEAL includes the famous SEAL knife. And for a undersea operatives, the knife is not just an accessory, it is a necessity. No operative would dive without it just as he wouldn't dive without oxygen tanks.

The question is how much emphasis is their on hand to hand combat, from what I have heard very little, certainly not extensive by any means.Kudos

I believe that (H2H combat) is part of the assault course, that every single soldier and officer has to take.

To learn such skills and make effective use of them requires very time consuming, exquisite and comprehensive training , training which frankly speaking is way, way down the list of requirements for a soldier in a modern battlefield.Kudos friend.

Polish friend of mine got certified for civilian rebreather dives to 50 m here is Australia. His instructor was some old salt special forces type. He says the knife was like an extension of his arm.

I think close combat skills may result in strengthen your senses and muscles too. you gain good control on your body and actions. so its good for operatives involved in stealth night missions IMO. Thanks

Some boxing mixed with wrestling/grappling training will be effective for self defence, though their is little emphasis on hand to hand combat in military doctrine, it simply is not worth the time and effort and it can cause lots of injuries, ie corneal abrasions which can effect eyesight (boxing/striking) and spinal injuries, knee injuries (wrestling/ju-jitsu).....I would rather see jawans spend more time on the firing range than on any exotic arts which in practical terms will have little or no effect in an actual battlefield.
Usually such fields of warfare have more psychological impact than the actual field benefit. One such benefit is the increased confidence and sense of control that translates directly into much better performance in armed encounters

The godfather of MMA Bashir Ahmad has been going to Cherat lately. I hope SSGs are being trained under him. This 14th August Bashir will be posting videos of his training in Cherat as well.
P.S Bashir is Ex US military EOD who served in Iraq war.

Yes you are certainly right, Bashir Ahmed of Pak MMA a pro in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsue has been spending time with the SSG. Famous MMA & WWF wrestler Ken Shamrock also worked closely with US marines in the 1990s teaching them grappling and takedown techniques. As I said earlier, the US were taken back during world war 2 as the Japanese armed with samurai sowrds and experts in jujitsue were able to fight US servicemen hand to hand with devestating consequences. Then US servicemen were only trained in boxing and didn't have much hand to hand and knife fight in skills. The Philipine Marines are always Arne with a bolo (double edged machete) and are highly skilled in the art of Kali, eskirima and Pekiti Tersia.
