Yes they are thought and quite in depth. I still remember them very clearly.. I loved History classes.

At least not in NCERT history textbook apart from a chapter which mentions about them in section related to South Indian history after the fall of Maurya Empire. But i guess state syllabus especially that of Andhra Pradesh , Maharashtra , Karnataka gives this empire the due respect it requires but not the National history texts.

Is Satavahana history taught in any single Indian school? Just curious. I haven't had enough contact with my cousins to know what they are taught.

Indo aryan invasion theory was first proposed by max muller and looks like you are struck with it, even after showing you a scietific proof that it is just a myth... let me try an other way, it is mostly believed that steppe people came to India 3500 years ago, and if we assume that they brought hindu religion in to how come vietnam recently discovered a vishu idol ( one of the the hindu trinity gods) that is 4000 years old ?? is it that steppes/aryans watever u call them travelled to vietnam first before they reached India ??

Hinduism do not fit the definition of a typical religion when compared to other Abrahamic religions. Hinduism in fact refers to all the dharmic & cultural beliefs of people living in Indian sub continent. And off course these dharmic beliefs is not a thing which can be made in a few years like other religions based on a single holy book/ a few holy books with an aim to export it to other radically different countries which are culturally way different. And Central Asia , Persia , Tibet & even Greeks had some influence on the religious beliefs off India. It doesn't mean that they invented it.
