What's new

The message is clear: The BJP is against terrorists only if those terrorists are Muslim

Your little role play will get millions killed aren't you worried about that?

well, there will be the nukes and powerful/ideologically-committed/true friends in the east and the global south... that will act as deterrents... look at the support russia gives still to syria.

of course, threat of regime-change will be constant in such a changed political system, so must be said that north korea did say "i told you so" to libya in 2011 for the latter having shut-down its nuclear/chemical weapons program earlier... so if nukes or presumed existence of nukes keeps the wolf away, why not have a changed system??

Otherwise..no one even bothered to know who is Pramod Muthalik is...It is the so called secular parties who just played too much of minority card for which even nuts like Pramod Muthalik is getting a space for Hindu people....

the ladies who were beaten up infamously by muthalik's group in 2009 in mangalore, the the group didn't know or care which lady was hindu, muslim and christian.

and certainly, he and his group didn't parachute from space for the incident and then vanish back into the depths of space... they were from the city and region, living typical lives... they are not "fringe elements"... his criminal act not getting him locked away permanently points to the level of acceptable for his types among the masses... sad but true.

Dear friend...i am not a great knowledgeble person like you...But suggest me, in your ideal of socialism, how a class and religion of people is prioritized??? And what is your opinion with it?...Suppose a scheme is made for poor people irrespective of religion? Does socialism support it or socialim support schemes based on religion??..

firstly, thank you for the compliment.

1. class

one of the wishes of a socialist revolution is to remove the system of "economic class" and bring everyone to the same level of comfort and facilities... various societies have achieved this to varying degrees... a person is spiritually calm when his material needs are provided without him struggling... housing, water, electricity, food, petrol, transportation, loans etc when obtained easily by any person in a society will lead to at least economic class being eradicated... for example, libyan jamahiriya.

below is how any citizen in libyan jamahiriya lived...

1. any person interested in engaging in farming was given free land by the system, along with seeds, tools needed and housing, for free.

2. electricity and water was free ( that too in a largely desert country ), and libya had history's largest irrigation system, "the great man-made river" project ( gmmr ).

3. housing for any citizen was to be lived rent-free until the resident wished... rent was considered a compromise on the freedom of the citizen and therefore anti-human.

4. medical system was free, and if treatment was available outside, the costs would be borne by the system.

5. education system was free, and if that course was available outside, the costs would be borne by the system.

6. education was of one's choice and could not be forced by parents or circumstance.

7. food was at low cost.

8. any person interested in establishing a business was given a start-up amount of 20,000 dollars, interest-free.

9. all loans were interest-free.

10. no private banks operated in libya.

11. for a person not in employment, he or she was given the average salary ( stipend ) for the person's choice of field of employment... in fact, this was a coming-down in later years from the early days of the al-fatah revolution... in 1979, a unemployed person was given 7000 dollars per month !!

12. libyan jamahiriya being socialist, all wasteful traditions were frowned upon, like 600-guest four-day weddings like what happens in south asia.

13. at weddings, the bride and groom were together given 50,000 dollars to help them set up a new home etc.

14. car purchase was subsidized by the system.

2. religion

current or past socialist/socialistic societies in west asia, africa, south america, ussr and south-east asia saw every citizen as a human first irrespective of his belief in islam, christianity, buddhism or animism.

socialism is meant to bring progressive change to everyone irrespective of a citizen's religious belief, as long as those beliefs don't contradict the desire of the socialist revolution in making the society harmonious and calm... obviously, reactionary attitude arising from religious background ( any religion ) will be overthrown by the revolution.

to answer your question, a socialist government ( a government of the people ) will implement and provide schemes to every citizen without asking for his religion.

Seriously I don't get it , why do peopl tend to migrate to western countries when there were so many freebies available to them in Libyan jamhuriyat.

stinking islamic dictator commie got exactly what he deserved,

and we'll have none of it in India.

thanks to Dr Abdul Kalam, we can glass them back to pre historic times if they try anything here.:agree:

I'm saying it's dependent upon how you look at things. In any case, BJP is the biggest democratically elected political party of World's largest democracy. To call it a terrorist organization is tantamount to calling India a terrorist country. I do hope you fully understand what you were saying, if you really meant it.
These are the ones I was talking about.
The message is clear: The BJP is against terrorists only if those terrorists are Muslim

If it has got away with this blatant hypocrisy, it can only be because a substantial proportion of the population shares that view.

If Yakub Memon hangs, will it be because of his faith? That’s whatAsaduddin Owaisiof the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen suggested, setting off a predictable storm of outrage. On his news programme, Arnab Goswami called Owaisi’s statement, “Completely unnecessary, provocative and seen as an attempt at religious polarisation”, and accused the politician of, “insulting the supreme court of the country.”

Owaisi countered that the killers of Punjab’s chief minister Beant Singh and India’s former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had their sentences commuted thanks to political backing, which Memon lacked, presumably because he was Muslim.

Logjam on death row

To understand whether Owaisi is on to something, it is useful to look back at the history of capital punishment in independent India. The nation frequently executed convicts in the decade after independence but as voices against state sanctioned killing grew stronger around the globe leading to the practice being banned in over a hundred nations and moratoriums being placed in over 50 others, we became increasingly hesitant to use the gallows. However, although the Supreme Court ruled as early as the 1970s that death be awarded only in the rarest of rare cases, it wasn’t particularly reluctant to condemn criminals to hang. The combination of the willingness to convict and unwillingness to execute created a logjam on death row.

The last recourse for those sentenced to hang is usually a plea for mercy to India’s head of state. For almost a decade, between 1997 and 2007, such mercy petitions were simply ignored. KR Narayanan and Abdul Kalam were excellent Presidents, but both kicked the capital punishment can down the road. Narayanan didn’t decide on a single case during his term in office, and Kalam made a judgment on just two petitions, accepting one and rejecting one. Pratibha Patil, a controversial replacement for the inspirational Kalam, may have proved lacklustre in office generally, but considered dozens of mercy pleas, and gladdened liberal hearts by commuting arecord number of death sentences. The damage to the process, however, had already been done.Rajiv Gandhi’s killerswere spared the noose on grounds of inordinate delay, even though Patil rejected their mercy plea.

A similar commutation was offered toDevinder Singh Bhullar, a Khalistani militant convicted for planting a bomb that killed 9 people, though not its intended target, the Congress leader Maninder Singh Bitta.

Before the Supreme Court’s final verdict in those cases, politicians launched campaigns on behalf of the convicts. Tamil Nadu’s legislative assembly passed a resolution against hanging Gandhi’s assassins, while theAkali Daladopted Bhullar’s cause.

The Akalis have also demanded mercy for forBalwant Singh Rajaona, one of Beant Singh’s assassins. Astonishingly, Rajaona has been elevated to the status of Living Martyr (Zinda Shaheed) by the high Sikh religious authority, the Akal Takht.

Pratibha Patil’s successor Pranab Mukherjee has been even more energetic than she was in tackling mercy petitions, but with a very different perspective. He has ruled against commutation in the vast majority of cases before him. Of the 24 people thus condemned, three were convicted of terrorism, or political killings, while the others were murderers of a more common variety. The appellants in the three terror-related cases all happened to be Muslims: Afzal Guru, Ajmal Kasab, and Yakub Memon. The first two have since been hanged, the only individuals put to death by the Indian state in the past decade.

Double standards

It’s difficult to decide, based on the small sample size available, whether Guru and Memon were ill-served by the judicial process because they were Muslim (Kasab’s case was, of course, open and shut), or whether they were simply unlucky to be convicted in a period when presidents took relatively expeditious decisions on mercy pleas, thus eliminating the "inordinate delay" recourse. I find the attitude of the public to these cases more worrying than anything that happened in court. When Omar Abdullah spoke out against executing Afzal Guru, he faced a backlash that his DMK and Akali Dal counterparts had not. Hetweeted about thisand created a bigger stir. The BJP made hanging Afzal Guru part of its political platform even while condemning the supposed violation of the "cultural and human rights" of Hindus under trial for bombing civilians, and partnering with the Akali Dal that supported convicted Khalistanis. It’s difficult not to conclude that the party is against terrorists only if those terrorists are Muslim. If it has got away with this blatant hypocrisy, it can only be because a substantial proportion of the population shares that view.

I understand why people feel threatened by Islamist terrorism and extremism, but when they adopt double standards as a consequence, it only causes disaffected Muslims to be drawn to identity politics of the kind peddled by the Owaisis, or something far worse.

The message is clear: The BJP is against terrorists only if those terrorists are Muslim

What a pathetic source

And on top of those stings I have also heard lot about Gaddafi's female bodyguards and all those stories related to his pervert mindset. Living under dictator could be real hell. How can anyone even remotely admire such fella's setup.

Anyway Libya had oil to splurge upon it's people , every country is not blessed or say cursed with oil.

Forgot to take your medicines ??

stop being a reactionary, please.

Do you think anything will move if it required consent of 100% ??

consent arrived by consensus via enlightened discussion, at neighborhood-level which will escalate to city-level and then to societal-level... true democracy.

Seriously I don't get it , why do peopl tend to migrate to western countries when there were so many freebies available to them in Libyan jamhuriyat.

before 2011, those who migrated out of libya were mostly political exiles who were then encouraged and trained by western intelligence much like the anti-castro cuban exiles.

other than them, who were you referring to??

yup, exactly like those drug runner, extortionist terrorist thugs.. your friends, the maoists.

nevertheless, my point was about eradication of the economic/political class/rank system.

stinking islamic dictator commie got exactly what he deserved,

what qualifies to you someone as a "dictator"??

this ( One Third of Libya Turns Out to Support Qaddafi in World's Largest March Ever - Intifada Palestine )??

consent arrived by consensus via enlightened discussion, at neighborhood-level which will escalate to city-level and then to societal-level... true democracy.
And you are persisting with that ridiculous opinion ?? Simply no amount of so called enlightened discussions can forge a 100% consensus. Have you ever witnessed 100% even in any opinion poll or any plebiscite.

Actually I know from where you are getting at it. You can try as much as you want . In India or any democracy , minority have to play along majority, there isn't any escape route. You are stuck man !!

before 2011, those who migrated out of libya were mostly political exiles who were then encouraged and trained by western intelligence much like the anti-castro cuban exiles.

I guess I was not talking about people leaving Libyan Jamahariya . I was talking that how many people even prior to 2011 applied for Libiyan citizenship. Why not pakistanies flocked to Libya instead UK or Canada ??

in such cases, the more enlightened people from a gathering impress or force the gathering to accept their ideas or questions simply through intellectual debate... remember, in these discussions, before a consensus is formed, everyone is allowed a chance to put their opinion or question.

so how can this be ridiculous?? it is the most natural kind of opinion making.

Actually I know from where you are getting at it. You can try as much as you want . In India or any democracy , minority have to play along majority, there isn't any escape route. You are stuck man !!

therefore, deriving from what i said above, the societies you call democracies are not democracies then because they simply impose majority opinion or will at the threat of arrest, death, boycott or general harassment.

I guess I was not talking about people leaving Libyan Jamahariya . I was talking that how many people even prior to 2011 applied for Libiyan citizenship. Why not pakistanies flocked to Libya instead UK or Canada ??

my mistake in not reading your question properly.

yes, there were pakistanis and many other guest workers ( including from india ) who went to libya before 2011 and some stayed on since.

at the start of the 2011 war, libya had about 6 million total population, including 2 million guest workers... during the war, many black africans were brutally captured by the terrorist gangs and tortured by cutting, burning, slicing and other forms... the "rebels" ( nato-supported terrorists ) said they suspected the black african workers to be fighting for muammar gaddafi but the terrorists were simply being racist.

1993 bombings were linked to proxy war which were painted as religious problems and we should not forget that Mafia groups themselves distanced themselves from terrorism.
