The Make in India dream keeps colliding with the Chinese reality

well the chinese did not even have a private sector until like 80s. Infrastructure being poor is also not realy correct.
india had far more rail lines than china until like 80s or 90s maybe despite being only one third size. India had more airports until recently or may still has.

Basically india failed with even better starting point. what chance now ?

The idea is to move some percentage of China's mfg to India to keep China honest

India is trying to be there in the stage when China started its journey in 19070-1980. At that time there was no challenge to China, right now there is China for India.

We will pass this wall for sure.

China played a role perfectly in symbiosis with the Zeitgeist of Late -Cold War and First two decades after Cold War ending.

India cannot be another China because China is still a ascending country. In order for India to be another China, it has to offer the world something completely different.
