The last village discovered in China, Darya Boyi Village in Taklamakan Desert, found in 1950's
In the 1950s, the government of Yutian County learned that there were still a group of people living in the depths of the desert unknown in the territory under its jurisdiction, so it sent a working group to investigate and asked the local residents what kind of place it was. The villagers said that it was Daliya (meaning river) Buyi (meaning river bank), so Tungus Bazit had a new place name Daliya Buyi, commonly known as Daheyan.
In the depths of the Taklamakan Desert, there lies an ancient village - Darya Boyi Village, which is about 400 years old. It is not only China’s largest village (more than 2,000 square kilometers), but also one of the most inaccessible areas of China. And you cannot even find it on the current map.
