If you by caste though, Bajirao and Sadashivrao are technically Brahmins. But over here, we don't follow casteism as much so you can see Brahmins like Bajirao and Sadashivrao and many others fighting.

Most Marathas are non vegetarians. But my family is vegetarian and only partly non-vegetarian. I first ate non-veg very late. Even now, I may eat it once every 2-3 months (only outside, not cooked at home as my mom doesn't know how to cook it. But we eat outside in restaurants). But other Marathas eat a lot of non-veg.

Yes, there are many Buddhists in Maharashtra as well because of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. I think the largest proportion of Buddhists in India might be in Maharashtra.

You can also look up the Ajanta and Ellora Buddhist caves which are very famous over here. Also, the Karle and Bhaje caves which are very close to Pune. Buddhists had a strong presence in Maharashtra. I heard that most Buddhist caves in India are also in Maharashtra. You can visit them.
