In my family(immediate and distant) more male members eat beef compared to females. So I am kinda sure that beef eaters are mostly males. :/

In my family, joint family and distant family, Beef is not allowed, or not cooked, cannot take inside the compound (irrespective of it is cow or buffalo)...... But there are males and females who eat beef in my family (btw this is also not a sample)

OK, to all the beef, chicken or pork eaters. How do you kill them? Jhatka or partially cut their throat in order to bleed them? Or sever the entire head in one stroke? or beat them to death?

that is true for all non-vegetarian food, may be elders discourage it unknowingly...

I'm not sure it's about elders.
It's women in the family who have to cook it. Cleaning chicken,fish and beef can be an arduous and messy process ergo they discourage it.
I mean who would want to see blood?

Depends on the family.
Many don't allow meat at home, in which case men buy it from outside. At other places women cook it, may not eat it though. So under such circumstances women might discourage meat eating.

I never felt bad being called a mallu. It seems a nice word. Even Pakee was a nice short cut name for Pakistanis. Only here on PDF I came to know that Pakistanis take it as an expletive!

Afaik the story is same everywhere, most of the male members of the family, irrespective of their caste, eat beef.


Vegetarianism has its benefits.

Hindus, Christians prefer Jhatka. Muslimz prefer playing violin in the neck of animal with knife.

Both claim their method is more humane. Problem is, nobody lived to tell which method is better!

Christians prefer Jhatka

In Kerala, crude methods are used, I've seen them using huge metal hammers hitting the bulls in the forehead to stun and kill. Generally, Christians prefer non-halal (wherever available).Jhatka is a method used by Sikhs. This is not common in Kerala. Perhaps Christians are the biggest meat eaters considering they don't have religious taboo unlike Muslims and Hindus. Beef, Pork, Quail, Duck, Rabbit, Camel, Frog, Emu, Chicken all are available and eaten. In towns like mine (famous for hand-chopping case), Muslims tries to enforce Pork ban which fails every time. Christians and some Hindus who're addicted to Pork meat won't stay away from it. The Bangali/Bangladeshi labourers are 100% Cow meat eaters, they don't like Carabeef, which is slightly expensive.

This is something to do with specific regions, there are regions in India where people eat Dogs !

Cow is sacred in North, you are asking for trouble if you are looking for it in Punjab, Himachal, Haryana and Jammu etc.

I prefer mallu against Madrasi and malabari
And searched mallu in google there is news about a lot of mallu aunties
