The Indian Ocean riposte (Stunning news about the S3 & S4 & S4*)

.
These are the confirmed numbers not speculating on what can or should be.

Dude, i know its confired.. but i'm just saying mostly SSN and SSK (correct me if i'm wrong) will be used with CBG's then don't you think we need another 5-6 subs of those kinds to sail individually???

.
From where did you get 3 new SSBN ? i.e. S5,6,7 ? Indian Cabinet has cleared 6 SSBN. This is in addition to the S2,3,4.

That makes it 17.

Finally it says 1 Akula and 1 Kashalot / Uniform class from Russia. Not 2 Akula.

Since Kashalot is made of Titanium, 2.7 billion $ seems like a possible price.

2.7 bill is for buying this submarine in the name name of lease remember this old sub already 27 year old . And we paid 1 billion for new chakra . And again since all components is been modified they have to re modified to be in use with Russian at nearly at least 300 to 400 million cost . So this done deal . Wait for another chakra class submarine to be leased very soon or later . As one will be used for SSN construction and testing new Indian systems and two Russian SAN for active duty . Our gap is set to grow above 8% very soon . So lot more will be done ....... Very interesting time to be an Indian I must say

. . .
As per the deal we signed we took lease of two incomplete SSN . Only god knows how this 27 year old sub is been leased ....

India to lease second Russian nuclear submarine
January 20, 2015 Lenta.ru

India has started negotiations with Russia seeking to lease the nuclear submarine K-322 Kashalot ("sperm whale") of the Project 971 “Shchuka-B” Class, reports “Interfax” citing a source in the Russian military-industrial complex. If the parties sign this agreement before the end of 2015, this ship could be delivered to the customer already in 2018.

So all reports says is the Titanium Hull 2000T Kashalot. Not the Akula.

But the twist is that we signed deal to complete two incomplete SSN Hulls. So that's the confusion am facing now. Need more clarification on what ground Kashalot is been signed . Looks like our government will use old Kashalot as a blue print for SSN. Am not sure am just speculative here .

DAMN !!!! SORYU technology with make Indian SSN the most feared SSN in the world ..... Funking fingers crossed. Bloody pull the rabbit out of SORYU deal P75I. ASAP !!! At any cost it can firm backbone of Indian Nuclear submarine stealth capabilities. Whole new metal alloy for the HULL. Much needed capability for noisy nuclear submarines. Oh god make my wish come true.:flame::nhl_checking:

You are right. The Diplomat says that the 2nd Sub will again be the K-322 Kashalot, an Akula-II-class submarine (Akula is the NATO reporting name for the Shchuka) with a surface displacement of 8,140 tons, submerged speed of 30 knots, and maximum operating depth of 520 meters. The Kashalot additionally requires a crew of 73 sailors and uses a 190 mW nuclear reactor for propulsion. The Kashalot features eight torpedo tubes in total, with four bays designed for 630 mm torpedoes and the remainder designed for 533 mm torpedoes (optimized for Russian-made Type 65 and Type 53 torpedoes).

The name Kashalot was confusing and I mistook it for the smaller Titanium hull submarine.

Exactly . Now need to watch what we exactly did. We settled with Kashalot or its additional to two submarine signed for lease very long ago. My guess is the Russians might had shown interest in how INS Chakra turned out to be the best SSN so they might had offered to sell this old Legend of their Navy. Or don't be amazed if our PM who is famous for his vision to make India a Super power might had went with additional SSN fro. Russia so Chinese will calm the funk down . He is crazy when it comes to India and our pride

Let's see . But for sure this 2nd leased SSN is not we signed for :D If true then I love our crazy version of Mode and normal version of Dover. ... Real devil of our enemy:lol: Game on folks

And Lord have Mercy on PN
Don't you know, they are protected by the bumb and drones? Burraq is gonna make us never attack them in case they feel adventurous at the border

Apologies accepted Didact !!! Who ever Indian for ever is ;) looks like he got banned .
Anyways people are missing a point on Arihant here the displacofement 6000T is not submerged displacement for example Akula ssn is 12000T submerged but it's actual displacement is 8000T only . So S3 S4 S4* will be utilised to its full potential . And S4* is a surprise for me . Never knew we had 4 SSBN Bro .

It's a Master Stroke by this Modi-fied strategic planning . Man I must saw this will propel India into a multi dimension force . Border mischievous has to be done with caution because looks like new defensive against our neighbours is to go offensive . THAT SUMS it all.

So here is our fleet . If my speculation is true . We will go for 3/4 more Scorpenes by next two years . And as I belive P75I won't just stop with just 6 SSK . Because as of now our Mod planning to have 2 private shipyards toped in for initial 6 P75I along with PSU. 1+1+4 . 4 for our experienced PSU . Since 1 submarine is mere waste of money to invest in these private shipyards needs another 3+3 as follow on just to stay away from loss . In fact recent reports suggest that private players not happy with dividing 6 sub orders . Sighting of loss due to large investment needed to create a supply line to produce world's most advances stealth submarines . And there for 4 each for 3 shipyards will reduce the time as well . HUGE TWIST will be if Japanese sell their SORYU SSK . Producing 12 or even 6 will keep Chinese PLAN out of IOR for the next 20 years at least . But bits more unlikely . As Japanese are using this submarine as there super weapon against Large PLAN as a power packed surprised package . Even Australians are begging for this Submarines for very long time now. If Big 3 India Japan Australia operate SORYU ...... Well end of Bullying in SCS & IOR.

So IN will operate 12 nuclear submarines + 6 ( or +3/4) deadly Scorpenes + 6 bigger SSK ( may be 6 more as I mentioned) + 14 old and upgraded submarines of Russians and Germany . 24 new submarines planned and cleared for in :D :D :D

TIME TO PUT THINGS IN PLACE !!! TIME TO RAISE .

CHEERS BRO Ditact for tagging Ind4Ever ... who ever it is ;)

Bhai, Permanent ban hogaya?

The growth of Naval assets is Fine but we also need a strong IAF
to counter the PLAAF
Don't get carried away with hype on Chinese J11 or j20 oor JF17 . We already have a formidable airforce which can take on Chinese in 1 on 1 battle. They always overestimate their capabilities. I really wonder how many mistakes China will make .THE actual war they fought was with Vietnam with full force of nearly 300000 - 400000 regulars against 100000 strong regulars Vietnamese and their people who came forward to hold their ground. Yet they lost because war is not just about weapons but about the WILL of the soldiers to fight for. In 1962 Chinese took on ill equipped Indian Army who fought battle with ww2 riffle against Machine guns of fully equipped overwhelmed Chinese troops. Yet our jawans stood their till they sacrificed in the battle which had no advantage . IAF is well equipped with a some fire power and will be equipped with even more might of raw fire power in coming years. Navy needs to be given more attention at least for the next 30 years . And maintain technology superiority over Chinese ripoff.

Don't you know, they are protected by the bumb and drones? Burraq is gonna make us never attack them in case they feel adventurous at the border

Bhai, Permanent ban hogaya?
