I was listening to this earlier today, it's a beautiful song. "Aitebar" and "Chup" are also fun to listen to (don' know how much you are into Zeb and Haniya). Cool pop-rock duo.

^^ I have heard couple of their songs and they are good. But this one I heard and fell in love with immediately, though I cant understand a single word but the tune and the way she sang it is quite amazing...

Romance - there's so many different interpretations to that word. I've always preferred the darker, moody, ironic interpretations.

First of all I congratulate Mastan Khan on his exquisite taste (over the length of this thread), probably because it is so similar to mine.

Second, MK, if you haven't already heard this, try it (listen to the words, then the music):

Third, poetry. What can be written anew that Ghalib did not write? Oh yes, Gerald Manley Hopkins, the only English poet who wrote in a seeming ecstasy that is close to the sufis:

If you only have a half hearted understanding of poetry, you will try and get the South Asian flavour in the rhythms, the rhymes, the repetitions, and the movement of the words. This is high romance, written in chaste English, but with a Urdu/ Hindi flavor that was unintended!.

having said that i love some of the new songs of this time as well... infact i just love music..
