What's new

The Hendis are coming

Dude our cuisine is outstanding. This is my favorite joint in LA. I'm here half the time whenever I visit. Indian food you can't eat it. It's just oily and lot of spices.

Although, I don't like Irani food as much as Pakistani it is still more palatable than Arab food. Your kebabs are good, but Afghans make better kebabs. Indian food is complete trash no matter which restaurant I try it from. Also your tea or kavah is good. Especially the one with zaffran. It is very good for digestion after eating a heavy meal.

In punjabi some people say son papri, but close enough I guess.

Not spicy enough for me, but very fresh tastes depending on the restaurant. Maybe the food in Iran naturally tastes better like in Pakistan. Pakistani restaurants in the west do no justice to Pakistani cuisine when it comes to actual taste.

From the few Irani restaurants I've eaten from, I've loved the naan, chelo kebab, and kavah but the korma saabzi dish is always very bad. Maybe it tastes different in Iran.

yes, ghormeh sabzi (fried herbs stew) is an acquired taste. Same for kaleh pache (the head and feet of the sheep). Many people don't like these two. You have to grow up in Iran to like these.

In Iran kaleh pache is eaten for breakfast in the bazaar.

I have long long since given up arguing with Muslims on religion on PDF.
LOL, Religious argument! This is what you think is going on in here? You got it wrong, My wannabe Persian friend! What's going on is a mere conversation between an enemy of Iran and someone who loves the country the most.

We have same dish as kaleh pache in Pakistan called sirri paya. And it is also eaten in breakfast. We can make this from goat, sheep, or even cow

I think If Iranians ever try our saag dish which is close to korma sabzi, they will it like it more.

It is creamier and has little bit of a kick to it.

Or maybe paalak paneer which is spinach and cheese:

Look at Pakistanis man. What gives? @VCheng @lastofthepatriots @Oscar

Also, I remember reading a piece (quite) some time ago that we were the second most successful ethnicity behind the Chinese. Yet here they are way behind? @Chinese-Dragon

Cheers, Doc

The Pakistani expats have a bimodal distribution split between professionals and non-professionals. The former are actually quite comparable, but a minority overall.

u know, once you start eating this dish, you can't stop! Its very bad....lol.....I have to be dragged away because I just gorge myself. You are not real Persian unless you love this dish. People are crazy for this thing:

They just opened a full time Kaleh Pache joint in Melbourne. Its so packed now you need a reservation:

Of course not. And neither is yours.

Iran is not Persia.

I love it, but I hate how sticky my fingers get afterwards.

Maybe in India the food tastes different. In the west, they cannot replicate the authentic flavor no matter how hard they try.

Don't post non vegetarian food .photos. It pollutes my phone

That's true.. when I first moved to US from India I remember telling my parents over phone that the fruits and veggies looked big and more succulent but not the taste back home. Maybe it's the water.
E.g. this fake apple called Washington Red Delicious is the biggest scam. Apple's in India in those days used to be avl only in winter and came from Himachal or Kashmir and tasted so Yum.

I just can't see anyone or anything even remotely associated with kurds ever materializing. These are tribal type mountain folks who are inherently marxist and extremely anti religion. They are also disunited and constantly fighting amongst themselves....in case you were wondering. Just like Afghani.

Tell me more.
