Having been economically blocked by the American regime for more than half a century,
North Korea is still doing better than the world's biggest western-style English-dominant democracy
in terms of life expectancy (and many other health and inclusive growth index).

There are of course many countries doing worse than NK in this area,
but none has ever claimed they are the Supa Powa, which, does not reflect in some basic health determinants.

How is this happening?

Mostly the twice as high infant mortality and much higher overall child mortality in Pakistan (compared to India) has the greatest sensitivity to the life expectancy (if we look at how life expectancy is calculated).

This is why if you look at historical life expectancies (say pre industrial/medical revolution), you will find them listed in the 20s, 30s etc in todays terms.....its not that people were largely dropping dead when they hit 20 or 30.....rather massive amounts of people %-wise did not make it past their first few years of life (and if they did survive that phase, they generally would live a reasonable long life on average...say to their 60s etc).....and that basically distorts the life expectancy calculation at its very base.

I mean China has a massively high smoker prevalence too....so its not really sensitive these days that much to lifestyle choices and advanced medicine + old age extension phenomenon by 10 - 20 years etc.....as it is (esp when below 75 years L.E) to infant mortality, child mortality etc. The correlation between life expectancy reaching >75 and IMR dropping below say 15 is extremely high R^2 value as result.

Also, according to @Nilgiri, BD is also faking life expectancy figures and has everyone like UN and WHO fooled but not him!

As bad as Bangladesh is on the matter, North Korea is even worse, everything is insulated and there is 0 validation. North Korea is not even part of the IMF classification for example (that thing that BD does badly on but registers as threshold GDDS level).

NK is their role model for the next ten years in terms of improving life expectancy.

I think you are right. I'm tired of all these India vs China threads with no relevance. NK Vs India is more suitable.
I'm sure if you dig deeper NK has done better than India in other HDI index.
