This thread is emblematic of the danger of Indian inefficiency.

See this is where you get it wrong. Some criticism and discussing/ learning from it is perfectly fine. So, do not take it as some hate thread. Have a good day.

i think this narrative of 'arrogant or not' is irrelevant, pure impression. how much of this is arrogance? or simply more confidence? as long as the 'arrogance' does not blind the Chinese from learning from the rest of the world, we are fine.
1. border issues are not new, it's history that we can't change.
2. true. we are utilitarian. Communist Party could change it's name into 'Chinese Party' for more accuracy.
3. to be honest, many of those criticisms are out of pure ignorance. the gap between the reality in China and how it's been reported in foreign media is so huge (it's actually better now compared with 10 or 20 years ago) that we have websites translating those criticism as jokes just for fun.

I agree that most people outside china might not be having clear idea about how china works, their lifestyle, values etc.
On border issues I just hope that we resolve it sooner rather than later.

Starting a thread calling a nation arrogant is a form of hate speech, if not an lndian attempt to hide a sinister agenda under the cloak of decent discussion.

Besides I would prefer US arrogance to Indian inefficiency and sub par performance any day －if there is such a thing. I do not believe there is.

Silly post. We are arrogant because we are strong and powerful. The late Qing was arrogant because it was insular. Qing was backward relative to industrializing Western powers. Today's PRC is advanced. India is arrogant because of inferiority complex from 1000 years of subjugation.

The OP tries to mask his assumption that only Western forms of social and political organization are advanced while Chinese characteristics system is backward like Qing

Limahong is said to be a notorious Chinese pirate who had raided ports of Guandong, Fuijian and Southern China. Adding to this is he invaded Luzon. Do note that that those times, the islands that would become the Philippines was recently acquired by the Spanish Empire, thus Spanish presence during those time is not significant.

He attempted to create his own fiefdom somewhere in Pangasinan but escaped when the attacking Spanish and local Filipinos besieged his fort.

That's pure nonsense. China had plenty of contribution to art. Have you seen chinese architecture, clothing, painting, writing, philosophy? They were so amazing that they influenced the culture of everyone else in east asia.

In science chinese had advanced ship building, weapon design, and they were masters at building large things such as imperial palace, the great wall, grand canal.

While I agree that china should not claim superiority over the west, but credit should be given where it is deserved. China has done some pretty amazing things.
