The Curious Case of Chinese Bloggers

You will be surprised how many people from China go abroad and work actively against China.

I just read a piece by a Chinese born physicist who went there for masters and PhD and is now a prof, and who has written an open piece pretty much asking everyone to boycott a China based particle collider.

What did you say is no surprise to the Chinese people... throughout the Chinese long history, there has never been lack of individuals who work for own selfish interests opposing the country's interests, being the collaborators or traitors or hanjian 汉奸. One can find such stories easily if he ever reads the Chinese history, like some "relatively recent" (just hundreds of years away... yet compared to the historical records of many hundred years even millennia further away ) notable cases of the Opium Wars; The Eight-Nation Alliance occupation of Shanghai; or a more recent case just before the break-out of the World War II, the more black and white case of the Japanese savage invasion into the northeastern China (or called Manchuria back then)... even move forward to the contemporary times the entity like the Falun Gong or those supporters of the Umbrella Movement in HKSAR... there are always forces among the Chinese nationality/ethnic/descent who are working with the foreigners to weaken the nation of China, in particular those living overseas and being brainwashed by religions (esp. Christianization), converted into fanatics then thought they're working for their God's causes to liberalize China Therefore we recognize those names such as Gordon Chang, Lee Teng-hui, and many others in the modern days.

However, having said this, throughout the long history until the modern day, there are even way more Chinese nationality/ethnic/descent who wish to see a strong, advanced and prosperous nation of China, and they even work on that and contribute to realize the Chinese people wishes and dreams... the Chinese Dream for a strong, advanced, modern, united, harmonious and prosperous nation of China... and such things happen/happened in the past, at present and in the future. And if you pay close attention, this situation faced by the Chinese is far from the worst, in particular among those nations having the big size population (admittedly the Japanese people are showing stronger nationalism and they have less traitors within their nationality/ethnic/descent)... so definitely the Chinese people have better situation with this regard in the overall (esp. if one considers the SIZE of population, we are talking about 1.4 to 1.5 billion head counts if one includes all the Chinese people incl those in overseas and the descents and diaspora on earth... even a mere 1% opposing force will be a large number). Still the list of the patriots is way much longer than the similar traitor list, and folks of the patriot quality give their all out contribution to the nation, one of my hot favourite name is Dr. Qian Xuesen due his very role, contribution and journey of life. Many other nationals even care much less or even don't care at all the interests of their own nations... one easy phenomenon to observe is the level of brain drain... and the flag that you're waving is showing way more severe situation, which explains why a nation even has many smart brains but if they care less and just leave for other nations seeking their own interests, the nation will suffer in its domestic development and being lagged behind.

But to be realistic, in today's world there are "many" "little" folks whom will even sell out their own mothers let alone own country in order to reap material gains or advance own self-interests!

Note: because of the many traitors as a matter of fact, state needs to be very careful in guarding the national interests incl. the national secrets! Trust is very expensive and it must be earned through an arduous and strict process!

Let the Laowai learn Chinese themselves, it ain't that hard. I've seen Laowai who can speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese fluently with almost no accent. And I'm not just talking about that Canadian guy Dashan.

One really doesn't need to learn Chinese or hire translators to get the info they want.

Samsara, not only religion matter but I believed educational and cultural influence play more crucial role in here. Unfortunately Western education and culture have huge attraction to young generation. That's all thanks to media that 'bombing' day and night.
