The conspiracy to kill President Zia

Look Zia was a potent tool for the anti BD elements. Maybe you have mistaken him by my words of something great. But he was just puppet show. The plan was to install him from start, so that people cant ask questions seeing his past patriotic image and all anti BD things happen behind the curtain. Patriotic people were at gun point if they didnt cooperate they were just killed point blank like famous jail killing, SM assassination or Mosharraf. If BD patriot Musharraf could take power, BD would be different today but killed by the fanatic Zia's soldiers. There was a tug of war between army generals on western instigation. During 1971 war, English journalist made special interview on Zia and Khaled getting a clue that BD is going to be independent and predicted some of the MB elements will be future leader and see after some years killed elected representatives and started fight among themselves for power. Mosharraf was a proponent of Mujibism so Taher supported Zia as Taher's leader Sarbahara Siraj was eliminated by Mujb force but irony is Taher was later killed by Zia to seal his power.

You do not like Rentu because he has revealed many of the secrets of Shaikha Hasina. But he wrote the truths about who killed and who conspired with whom to kill President Zia, who was not certainly a part of conspiracy to kill Bangabandhu. It was the junior officers who killed him with built up cooperation from many BAL leaders of that time, led by Kh. Mustaque Ahmed, a BAL/BAKSAL leader.

The killer army officers did not ask Zia to come and take power in August because he was not a part of the inner circle that killed Bangabandhu. Instead, BAL party's Mustaque took over the power. Many of the BAL leaders, including Kh. Obaidur Rahman, joined his Cabinet. So, why do you blame Zia for the killing?

Zia did not seize power on August 15, 1975? He was brought to power only on 9th Nov. 1975. Zia had no hands in the Jail killings of our four national leaders. It was done by the Cols. and Majors under BAL leader Mustaque who ordered to kill them.

You are praising Brigadier Khaled Musharref only because his mother participated in a procession sometime between 3rd and 9th Nov. 1975, and you are invoking your own personal prophecy about what Khaled Musharref would have done this and that, have killed the Jamaatis and many other such things. But, since he failed to take over the power, therefore, we just do not know what really he would have done. Therefore, your propositions are only hypothetic.

I am here to talk about the conspiracy to kill Zia. But, somehow it is becoming difficult, because people are disorienting this thread to some other destination.

May Allah accept him among shaheed. Greatest leader in Bd history, period. People who bad mouth Zia, well I only feel sorry for them.

It was Zia who gave people hope, told them you take one step and I will take two to get you where you want a get to, inspired them to work hard, gave them new identity, United them under one roof, reunite Bd with Islamic world and did other great things to make Bd a prosperous nation. He was a true visionary and champion of the people.

Unfortunately, he left us in premature state. I believe if Zia was alive for 5 more year BD would have turn out to be a much better nation.

Hey everyone please stop saying rubbish things about great shaheed Zia Ur Rahman who saved Bangladesh from tyrant Mujib Ur Rahman. He was our greatest leader and brought economic prosperity and good defence against India who might have attacked us. So everyone speak respectfully of great shaheed Zia Ur Rahman who was killed by India to annex Bengal and but they couldn't annex us coz of his legacy so now they gone cryin'

Good riddance. Alhamdulillah this time the plan was successful to make BD free from that tyranny, after 20+ attempt. Many people tried it but only people of Comilla could finally do it. Im proud some of my family members were involved in that operation. Sheikh Hasina can change that day as her birthday celebration, like Khaleda. People should tolerate unplanned structures in front of Parliament building to honour him unnecessary.

He was a military officer who was informed his junior officers about their plans to kill the commander in chief and he said "go ahead"....when you are told by people who want to kill your commander that they are going to kill him and instead of stopping them you tell then to "go ahead" I think you bear a little bit of responsibility.

He said ' Go Ahead ' .

I think this is an utter lie and targeted at character assassination of Zia. Not blaming you, you must have gone through dubious source.

Col Fark's statement in the video clip says, 'He refused our plan, but told us to go ahead.' is an utter nonsense. This recording is perhaps when these Cols. and Majors were inside the President House and were controlling all day to day BD affairs in the name of President Mustaq. Col. Faruk could have said many things to get support in his favor. Zia was well known and popular. So, it was Faruk's ploy to sell his name through such video clips.

It is not a normal procedure for a military coup leader(s) to talk aimlessly with his superior without first truly knowing his mind. Zia certainly would have stopped them had he been informed before hand. The plotters could have been killed by a counter action!!

Yes exactly. Zia ur Rahman was the most popular officer in Army. It was fate that made him the Dictator of the country. I have tried to analyze all the socialist coups in Muslim nations that took place in the 60s and 70s. Specially the Syrian one that brought Bashar Al Asad's father in to the power. He murdered all his coup-mates and started a dynasty. And I came to the conclusion, Had Zia not killed Taher, Taher would have killed him surely. Zia had no other option.

Faruque himself said on tape to Mascarenhas....After achieving their goal and having no visible enmity towards Zia why would Faruque lie?

The matter of fact is you possess little knowledge about the incidents. So its extremely difficult to make a conversation with you. And you just repeat the words that suits you and you learned. But far from reality. You dont get it right, Zia was made COAS on 24th August and was behind the gov from start and 3rd Nov coup started all to remove him from power. You will maybe believe this if you read from Dalim's source who will be in your perspective a credible source. And these fanatic Zia elements needed a political cover and Mustaque provided. But Mustaque acted as a puppet and no command over the gov. If he didnt support he would also get killed like other BAL leaders. Also Mustaque wasnt power hungry, many times in those few days he insisted he would go seeing the anarchy (ami kintu sob falae jamuga). Also see the pattern all BD national leaders including freedom fighters were killed or exiled in bulk number but only the razakars and killers of national people, got a free run in the country those days. It gives a idea who was running the country from behind.

Then what makes you think that Faruk didn't know that Zia would not mind them taking Mujib out? Probably this is the reason why they approached him.

He didn't say that....he said "I am a senior officer, I cannot be involved in such things, If you junior officers want to do it GO AHEAD." That is not refusing the plan...that is saving one's skin from the risk of a failed coup.
