Says who? The Japanese during the second worldwar were a superpower of their time. They were evil, but a superpower nonetheless.

Japan was a regional power, yes, but it was never a global superpower.

The CPC has made China the 1st NON-WHITE superpower in nearly 1000 years. The CPC is ALSO set to make China the world's FIRST EVER Global HYPER-POWER. It thus follows that the CPC hardly, if ever makes any mistakes. Just by looking at what the CPC has achieved in the last 75 years, it lends credibility to the fact that they are the MOST PERFECT political party or ruling elite ever to have existed.

These white/non-white categories are constructs of colonial powers. As non-Western powers rise, these will slowly disappear. In the distant past, the only "white" superpower was Rome. (Of course, the "whites" as we know it didn't exist back then). OGs were Egypt, Persia, China, India etc. The world is only returning to it's natural state of having power where the people are. But Egypt and Iran don't proportionally have the same population they used to have, so they are probably gone forever.

I used to support Xi having three presidential terms, but I don't anymore. I want four.

The Chinese are very evasive when it comes to political discussions.

In my case, I'm quite cagey when it comes to answering political questions from Westerners, but not because of Chinese censorship. I worry about Western censorship and how my career could be destroyed arbitrarily for voicing my deepest held political belief: democracy is a contemptible system for contemptible people.

First off, there are multiple instances of me acknowledging what China have achieved. That is already a given.. no point of dispute there.

Indians.. who do not like Modi/BJP and their brand of Hindutva politics/policies

Turks who disagree with Erdogan and his regional policies

British citizens who hate Boris Johnson and the tories

Murricans who hate Trump, or Biden..

You Chinese on the other hand.. "we love XiXIP" is all we see

I have no great (or any) desire to see a Chinese who hates China or their politics but a bit of politically divergent opinions make discussions here more real.. it seems the citizenry of China have no concept of being full participants in the process.

Again, China have done supremely well in terms of poverty alleviation and development and technological progress, things most admirable and which must be commended.

but this lack of political discussion, the one party system, no democracy... kind of sad, isn't it ?

I said we don't criticize for the sake of being able to criticize, don't take my words out of context please.
besides, after making the above statement I realized I could be wrong cause we have very few Chinese people joining Englishi language forums and extremely few Chinese write English, if you really like to see how Chinese criticize and even ridicule the government, go to Chinese forums you can find tons of them.
