The Chinese App that does everything: Wechat

.
No one uses cash any more, now if you pay cash people may somewhat think you are strange. If I lost my wallet it'll be weeks if not months before I know it.

Taiwan TV Tibet Repot: Full 4G coverage of the whole region, Taiwanese reporters are amazed that even in the remote grazing pasture regions in the Himalayas are covered by 4G and Tibet now is also a full cashless society, people buy and pay everything with their cellphones.

Honestly all the use-cases can be covered using a tap enabled credit card.

Actually thats how it is in most of North America. You have your credit card and you tap to pay. It is more convenient because you don't have to keep your credit card 'charged'.

Apple Pay etc exist for quite sometime but nothing is more convenient than a tap enabled card.

Did you even use wechat ? Why do you think it needs to be charged? As for convenience, everything is just a scan away, that's why all westerners are amazed after they tries wechat in China.

I meant phone battery needs to be charged.
A credit card needs no charging. Just tap and pay.

A phone needs to be charged, yes, but you still need it all the time, right? How often do you go out without your phone? As for charging your phone, it's very convenient and you can do it everywhere in China.

why using mobiles to make a phone call? just use a telephone, because it is always pluged in````and why to use telephone, just send a letter, as sending a letter does not need to be pluged in````well, backward society and people will always saying funny things to advancement and progress````

I have to spend weeks every year in London for my PR requirement, I feel going back in time whenever I was in London`````they are much the same when I was there in late 90s and early 00s```

You should also add credit card acceptance exploded in the early 1990's so we've had almost 30 years of phase-in to a point where every place accepts them - even in some mom&pop store in the middle of nowhere. I get 6% cash back on some of my purchases with one card. Another one keeps knocking $20 off my grocery bill every week. That's $1000/yr.

I use Apple Pay with my cards. Haven't tried sending people money using Apple Pay Cash.

Hope they stay in the era of credit card forever

I hope so. I like the free money.

I think it was the French or Swiss who started NFC payment, so they should be copying them not the Chinese.

You sure you are British "PR" for starter, PR does not exist in the UK, you applies for a "Leave to remain", in this case, it's Indefinite Leave to remain and also, ILR holder required to be in Britain every 2 years not every year.

And finally, if you leave the UK thru Ireland, you won't have exit stamp, which mean you can technically come back before the 5 years visa expire and get another one without people noticing, not sure if you can do that once UK leave the EU tho

Rather just stick to contactless debit cards than use more software that is just government run and used to spy on you, its nice but its not new, this stuffs been around for years everywhere outside of the USA and as said above...if your phone dies you are screwed, I have my debit card (not credit, no one uses credit cards in Europe) and android pay, weChat is government spying tool.

Wechat is more convenient because it is p2p and every phone has camera.
