They are the same fakenews. They have always been. SCMP is trying to portray itself as a Chinese newspaper, but its really just a two way laundry for U.S. propaganda.
While their articles mainly feature Chinese author names, in reality most of authors and staff writing and editing the articles is neither Chinese nor even living in China but in America. Its just a facade with only a dozen ignorant or indifferent Chinese journalists/writers dumping in a few neutral reports inbetween to keep up the act and the rest of the operation is the same garbage propagandaists that works for fronts like Apple Daily or BBC. Not just the same kind. Many are actually formerly and dual employed by U.S. propaganda mouthpieces. The author of this article worked for Reuters as well.
Even their little selfproduced content is mostly penned by Americans or affiliates with U.S. regime propaganda mouthpieces the rest is just tabloid level nonsense like random petty quarells or accidents that all just have one thing in common, make China look silly, poor, aggressive, chaotic and put shade on China. That content is still aimed at English and American audience, not Chinese. US based US regime mouthpieces are constantly citing it as the go to source for"Chinese news".
Most of SCMP content is just echoing or taken straight from U.S. regime propaganda mouthpieces the exact same way these "indpendent" U.S. state propaganda mouthpieces just echo whatever is poured top down to them themself, without conducting any sort of research on the subject matter. SCMP is not even hiding it anymore and openly credit U.S. regime propaganda mouthpieces on most of their content. Probably also to redirect Chinese traffic to them and legitimize U.S. propaganda operations and disinfo and smearing practices in wake of growing international distrust and hate for U.S. media.
SCMP is also part of an U.S. directed U.S. regime propaganda umbrella organization who are openly and obsessively propagandizing U.S. regime propaganda lies and slurs about China and spreading fear and hate against China and Chinese people, promote terrorism targeting Chinese, relativizing and whitewashing U.S. war and hatecrimes and discrimination and deflect Americas genocidal history on China and the rest of the world.
Its not the first SCMP is trying to slander, spread disinfo and misrepresent people who the U.S. and proxies flags as "dangerous" for drawing a larger global audience, especially when they have some "charismatic" appearance, while speaking the truth about China or exposing U.S. regime propaganda lies about China. There is some guy named Jansen who is really just some simpleminded good guy speaking about his positive attitude and positive experiences in China (who in my opinion shouldnt really dabble in politics at all) yet they tried to portray him as a criminal foreign agent based on a false report to the police about him which SCMP itself falsely submitted in first place from America just so they can write about it.
This just shows how fake SCMP is.But he stills gives them credit of doubt. Someone should remind Daniel Dumbrill about the viccious SCMP attack on his colleague Jansen. But again I recommend stop using U.S. state controlled outlets like YouTube that actively rig the "competition" of speech and undermine people speaking the truth with covert censorship like disabling their subscriptions for baseless "suspiscions" or limit presence of their videos on searches so they will always end up with less success than a random dipshit that doesnt know what hes talking about, no matter how hard they try or many peoples attention they draw.
