The Burning South - Live Simulation Thread

Personally, I can't answer that, in the sense that I don't know what traces of decisions taken, and links to the consequences, are available in the software.

But for my own curiousity, could I ask what an observer has gathered of events so far?
My man, I'm asking the same question... Or did you accidentally quote me ?
I have no idea what's going on honestly. I just want to see the gameplay.

Ah, oh.

So most people don't know what has happened so far? That's a little disconcerting. 12 hours have passed, from 4 am to 4 pm. I wonder what can be done about this.

. . .
I agree.

The simulator partly makes amends for its inability to grade the ability of pilots in 1st, 2nd and 3rd waves, by insisting on lesser numbers of aircraft from those surviving being available in each successive wave. Quality is substituted by quantity. Actually, it is not a continuous process of degradation of quantity, only the first and second waves are distinguished, after that, the percentage of aircraft remaining stays constant between one wave and the next.

Logical, but hard to quantify. Or to compute as a substitute.

That means that we should either have a fixed pattern that determines the quantity of aircraft in successive waves, and simulates what percentage of each wave is destroyed, OR can compute a systematic degradation of quality, and determines the arithmetic of each wave through applying this updated quality calculation.

Don't know if that makes sense.

Thank you for detailed answer.

May be RED FLAG Aggressor Squadron operations can be taken as a guide.

Any how its a complicated matter!

Hours - we started around 4am local time and are now at 4pm.

There has to be a Summery of Operations for the all of us..

13-14 hrs of War

We need an Article as likes of Kaiser tufail (27-Feb-19 operations) where it could be described for all of us.

In the first 12 hours of a possibly three year war?

If you can persuade Generalissimo @Desert Fox 1 , I suppose a War Journal could be maintained.

Go for it.

@SQ8 hasn't been posting the detailed events of battles, losses and expenditures, pictures and screen shots like he did in the previous thread, perhaps the load on him is too high?

Has anything happened in the last 12 hours!?

All that has happened WAS in the last 12 hours. The last 12 simulator hours.

.
Too all - yes, I have not had the chance to be as detailed as before for reasons known to the sim teams.

A more pressing focus in life that is not letting me spend the 5-6 hours I need to build those narratives and post them here.

So, call it a hiatus or “season 1”
But will return to this whenever things settle from their more colicky situation right now.

South will never get burn. It will simply get separated. South is becoming incompatibile with north.

6PM - Pakistan time. September 16 2026

Its barely been 18 hours to hostilities and The escalation ladder keeps climbing with both sides ravaging each other.

What began with airstrikes now has Cruise and ballistic missiles flying around against all targets with devastating results. Aircraft have been badly mauled for both by the long range SAM systems so they have been held back other than some desperate PAF attempts to take out India's S-400 units.
On the Pakistani side, they came up with a unique way of utilizing their long range MLRS units to take out Indian AD - with pretty decent results along with crating a lot of IAF forward air bases.

The results have been somewhat successful for the Pakistani coastal SSM Harba and Zarb batteries with them fulfilling their A2/AD mission and sinking no less than 3 Indian Frigates from the forward Task Forces who have been forced to pull back.

However one thing is clear, Loitering weapons and UAVs are the weapon of choice in this costly war and manned aircraft suffer greatly especially due to the loss of life with pilots.

Both sides now are looking to wear each others land forces down before they meet face to face and plans are in motion.

The total losses so far from the first shot fired should paint a picture of the devastation caused in such a short time.

NOTE: SAMs have been brutal but so as been EW and ELINT in find them.
What is key to note is every move and countermove is being executed as if in real time but planned in advance - this belies the actual real time processing of data by humans and the inevitable errors and hesitation that goes into decision making.

And PLEASE - none of the political whining.

This war is brutal - with hundreds of elements and targets involved and multiple air, land and sea forces engaging in all theatres including the electronic one.
Satellites pass overhead as well.

Just doing a quick air losses tally

INDIA: 102 - 1/6th of combat fleet!

Pakistan: 89 1/3rd of combat fleet!

That is ridiculous. Definitely the standard tactics no longer apply with Long range SAMS dotting across both countries
