May I add.

Due to heavy rains and flooding, it has been reported the BSF is having trouble in patroling the Sir Creek area. MHA has therefore, approved the purchase of additional 12 hovercraft from BharatForge. Each hovercraft can carry 60 personnel or 40 combat troops. Indian Coast Guard currently operates 36 of these. They have proven to be useful during search and rescue of fishermen and for providing patroling near inlets.

Last year the BSF had completed procurement of 20 ATV. Each ATV can carry upto 12 fully armed troops.


I seem to be having more time during working days. Will add more at in the evening post 7. Mainly to do with directions and a bit of background story telling which can get added to joe's.

What I do request (and we can create group PMs later) is that I be guided clearly on numbers and positions for the moves especially for the land warfare side.

Ill repeat again, there is no “oh god, I have to be nice to this guy and take time on this” situation. Hence if you recall I said the 5 lines thing. But lets put a cutoff date, this is Ramadan and my own productivity is flip flopping but lets say if we decide to complete the scene setting by 4/15 including what units/facilities to place where, how many, and what will units do?

That will be ample! I have done the ground forces bit, and have to work on the current air force numbers, and 'things like that'!

• What units/facilities to place where - check;
• how many - check;
• what will units do - check;

E.g opening salvo of OCA/ interdiction and ASW ops by Bhuj, Naliya and Jamnagar based assets in combination with Brahmos(or maybe not) strikes on “known” PAF, PA and PN targets. With IN P-8s on sub hunt patrols and so on.

I'm short on this, and can start only this evening, for medical reasons - have to see a doctor urgently, now. But this is not too difficult to work out at a gaming level - nobody's getting killed.

Even more interesting - we agree that facilities known to public knowledge (MOBs and clear FOBs, major HQs , bases and known radar locations) are “exchanged” but other facilities placed are known to their respective sides only to be discovered by recce overflights(sat passes included) or recon teams and Then can be added to the knowledge of the opposing team.

This sounds good, but obviously I need to understand it after seeing how it works. I'm game for taking the risk of failing because I didn't know enough. Again, nobody's dying.

All Terrain Vehicles? 4x4, 6x6 - if only 12 armed troops, it can't be much more than that.

The ukraine/russia conflict shows otherwise. india does not have the conventional superiority needed by a HUGE margin to be able to defeat Pakistan. india is MANY MANY times more weaker than russia but look at what the ukrainians have done to them. The gap between Pakistan and india is NOWHERE near the size of the gap between russia and ukraine yet the russians stand humiliated. Let that sink in. All this talk of indian military prowess is another indian bollywood fantasy at the same level of when indians used to claim that india will be a superpower before 2012 and have white slaves............

Why are these important? In certain areas, Paksitan has an advantage of acces, while our areas have supposedly marshier terrain. The last year part is story telling. We currently have around 12. Hence, certain areas may be no go for hovercraft, unless the underside is re-enforced.

My only input , has the IA developed systems for crossing the canals in Pakistan Punjab, the width of which as i remember stalled the advance of our armour in past wars ?

There are larger models - the BHT, for instance. or the slightly smaller 12000TD.
