What's new

The Bihar riddle: Modi govt clears loco projects but CM Nitish has no time for GE, Alstom chiefs

Move that to Gujarat or Andhra, these asshats are too ignorant to realize the potential of industrialization.

Sir- Both the areas mentioned are rural- you won't even find a proper road barring National Highways- The land rates are dirt cheap there- Which might sound strange to you as they are one of the most fertile land you'll find in all of India- You could buy a Bigha for Rs 10000 a few years ago-

What do you expect from a state that has put luxury tax on samosa and kachori?..

Bihar will officially replace UP as the "Somalia of India."

In last 3-4 months, the crime rate has just shot up tenfold as per government statistics. That should tell you a lot.

Sir- Bihar has always been far worse than UP- Eastern Bihar(seemanchal) is already somalia- I challenge you to find me one pucca house- or even a brick house in the rural areas there- Bundelkhand in UP can be also called Somalia-

.
I will love if Alstom changes its mind and moves it in Gujarat.... They already have a plant( Power generation equipments including turbines etc) in my city though.

.
For both GE and Alstom, the loco projects are biggest anywhere at the moment. Right at this stage the total takeaway from both plants is 1800 locos (800 double unit 12000 HP electrics, 400 x 6000 HP and 600 x 4500 HP diesels). This value is going to get even larger if IR decides to implement 4 more DFCs.
so is it a single 1800 loco tender which either alstom or GE will win? or is it a 1800 loco order for both alstom and GE?

What is the use of cheap land when people are scared of investing and utilizing it to its full potential? The other day there was a video where a Bihar Police inspector was publicly thrashing a farmer who had gone to complain against some hoodlums who had taken over his land and were threatening him.

I don't feel pity for them; they had a golden chance to undo all the damage in this election last year.
Had they brought BJP in power, which would have, for the first time put Bihar and Delhi governments on the same track, the state would have been changing by now.

But what did Biharis do? Voted for Yadav, Brahmin, Muslim etc etc castes rather than for their state's development and peace.

Had they given majority votes to Nitish I can still understand; but Lalu? Really?

Being an outsider, I just don't get that state's pathetic politics. They asked for this; the entire country expected so much from them.

Andhra is in midst of massive industriliazation coupled with tax breaks.

Why not Mamata's Sorgh Bengal? :P

We need more CM's like CBN of Andhra Pradesh

I agree with you, no sympathy for these idiots :disagree::disagree::disagree:

there are 2 orders.
Alstom, for Madhepura plant has order for 800 locos. These are double unit 12000 HP locos.
GE, for Marhaura plant has order for 1000 locos. 400 of these are 6000 HP and 600 are 4500 HP locos.

I will love if Alstom changes its mind and moves it in Gujarat.... They already have a plant( Power generation equipments including turbines etc) in my city though.
I've been to this plant at Makarpura.
Even Bombardier has a facility at Savli.
Vadodra is really an ideal place to setup such a large manufacturing facility.

@anant_s

They have a better option, shift to Jharkhand.
And tieup with TATA or public sector like Bokaro Steel City.
I knew this would happen in Bihar.

They will do that; or even delay the agreement and move the industries to Assam in case there is a BJP government in Assam.

Asom Gana Parishad has not really been impressive, which they seemed to be at one stage.

thanks for clarifying, the media says things that dont match so it adds to the confusment.

The migration of people is far worse inside Bihar too- People from rural areas are leaving their place for cities in mass- now this has caused huge problem- Patna for example can be now called as a city inside a massive sewer drain- land prices have gone out of the roof- roads and other infrastructure is insufficient- water supply from river is now is extinct(earlier most urban population had pipe water supply from rivers) this has caused underground water to go down alarmingly these days boring is done upto 200 feet 1.5km from the massive Ganges- the flow of river is now absent- It is slowly turning into a giant lake with massive river islands(these islands are criminal safe heavens)- Which in turn causes massive flooding during monsoon damaging agriculture as water never flows out It takes September-October for water to drain down in low lying areas- 4-5 months are wasted-

Now coming to industry- Bihar had a thriving agro-based industry with mango/leechi juice farms which are shut- sugarcane farms which are shut too- During Bihar elections I saw a TV report on one of these shut mills where an old guard was guarding the rusting machinery in hope that his salary would be released by owners- I was wondering why didn't the man sell the scrap iron and flee away yet- then I realized there was no one there to buy that scrap even- There was this arms manufacturing factory of Munger very famous in 70s and 80s employed a good number of people- now It is barely functioning and people illegaly making arms at their home and brokers are selling It all over North India- a 9mm semi-automatic pistol will cost Rs 17000-20000 to ordinary buyer in Bihar the cost shoots upto Rs 50000-80000 in Western UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan- AK47 comes around Rs 1-1.5 lakh there depending on model(yes they know how to make different models too) and can be sold upto 10 lakh in Western UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan all this happens in a small rural blacksmith's house- I have seen an 8 round revolver made by these guys back in late 90s-

This was also happening when BJP-JDU was running the government from last 10 years. Where was you then ?

Railways was a major source of employment for people in Bihar- There were some workshops which would make direct recruitment of ITI pass outs as apprentice- Once a local goon of dominant Yadav caste threatened to kill the CWM of a workshop If he didn't recruit only Yadavs- the recruitment stopped and doesn't happen now- similar thing may happen in Madhepura and Saran both are Yadav dominated areas full of criminals- unless full protection is provide to the staff- It would be difficult for these plants to function-

Only Madhepura and Saran, As if rest of the Bihar is Europe.

Only Yadav caste members are criminals and in rest of castes like Bhumihar,Rajputs and others, all are angels? or You have problem with criminals of the particular caste.

Sir- Bihar has always been far worse than UP- Eastern Bihar(seemanchal) is already somalia- I challenge you to find me one pucca house- or even a brick house in the rural areas there- Bundelkhand in UP can be also called Somalia-

Senseless lies and propaganda!!

I hail from this region, I would tell you more than 90% of household has atleast one Pucca house in my village or village nearby.

Kutchaa house is also there but mostly used as Cattle shade and storage room for Bhoosa,Gobar-upla etc.

So keep your lies to those who do not know ground realities.

That not very good from the sushasan babu. With lalu back in power the law and order is getting out of control.
People voted for Nitiesh because of his track record of efficiency in governance that coupled with Lalu's MY(Muslim-Yadav) politics and congressi sickulrism brought him back to power. Now he his getting the taste of his own medicine with RJD's goons back in killing and kidnapping with the help of his own MLA's.

Cheap resources are always utilized- there are areas in Jharkhand and Chattisgarh where situation is even worse- and there the Govt- at center needs even distribution of industrial infrastructure as much as possible- Then there is power resource available nearer to what other states might offer- Perhaps Industrial Protection force will be used to provide security- we need to wait and see- anything is possible given Lalu is in power-

I would not call it a Golden chance- a better option may be- and that's only because of a strong central leader- Bihar BJP doesn't have a strong leader- there are many power centers-

People all over India vote for their religion and caste so- Bihar is not an exception here- although yes I agree castism is very strong in Bihar-

Lalu always had such support among Muslims and Yadavs- he was crush under the weight of Nitish and BJP alliance- Now he has risen again-

Well you can see how state voted during LokSabha2014- But yes the state needs massive reforms It was already 10 years behind rest of India now It will be 15 years behind-

This was also happening when BJP-JDU was running the government from last 10 years. Where was you then ?

I was there even then- Yes It was happening even when JDU-BJP was in power but things had started to get better till Nitish got a heavenly call to save this country from the fascist demon Modi-

Compared to Madhepura and Saran Yes you can call Southern Bihar Europe-

Rest of the cast too have criminals but they have lesser community and Govt- backing compared to Yadavs- And the problem here is Rest of the castes are generally localized while Yadavs are now intercity criminals-

I have problem with criminals off all castes- But you seem to be covering up criminals of a particular caste only because they belong to your caste- now that is the real big problem in Bihar-

Senseless lies and propaganda!!

Which place do you live in seemanchal BTW ?- I wonder what kind of idiot will built a pucca house on a flood plain which changes after each yearly flood- But then I might be having too much expectations here-

Thats the sad part.
Nitish's victory is supposedly on development agenda, but unfortunately with Lalu driving the car from back seat coupled with school dropout ministers, we surely know what to expect.
The result, educated and skilled youth of Bihar will keep migrating out of state in search of employment, while nonsense continues unabated in state.
Development agenda?? Please go through the Indian political thread & the posts I,@Star Wars ,@Tridibans & @rainman made on Bihar.
Also go through the political rhetoric made by all sides.

Nitish didn't mutter much on development, the only time when he spoke about it was when he was bashing Modi & comparing himself to him.

BJP pretty much spoke the most about development compared to the JDU[less said about RJD, the better], but as Bihar didn't vote for them. We can assume Bihar wanted casteism & freebies & has no need of development.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The Education & IT minister is not even a 10th pass.(Congress) :o:  & this 8th pass will oversee the education of the children of Bihar. Truly #achchedin for him.
[Couldn't they find someone more capable or some other useless cabinet post to waste on such a man?]

I don't believe in your educational qualifications being a good enough credential for governance, seeing what our foreign educated heroes like MMS & Chidu have done over the years[Even RG is from Trinity]. Also one of TN's best CM was the uneducated Kamaraj. He is still a legend

But at least the Education Minister in the year 2016 of ANY STATE should be one who has completed his 12th class, if not 12th atleast 10th.
[I don't care iabout Smriti's credentials, keep her out of the debate ].
The only graduate in Bihar's cabinet is Nitish Kumar & possibly the only one who has all of these :- patience, understanding, logic, intelligence & common sense.

Yes, migration will become worse now from Graduates to unskilled workers
Fear rules, engineer exodus begins

Move that to Gujarat or Andhra, these asshats are too ignorant to realize the potential of industrialization.
Just go through the recent posts on CBN's FB profile. Recently we had some sort of Sunrise AP investment summit in Northern AP
Partnerships with various companies by signing 331 MoUs with total investment worth Rs. 4.78 lakh-crore were sealed in just a few days.

Honestly speaking,Bihar was always more under-developed compared to UP especially after Lalu came.
Eastern Bihar-Seemanchal is perhaps the most undeveloped part of India , if not among the most undeveloped parts..

Destroying something takes a few minutes, rebuilding it takes much longer-hours,days even weeks!!
[It is far easier to destroy something than to rebuild it]
The total damage done by Lalu in 15 years (+the inept rule of the previous governments since iazaadi) couldn't be repaired by Nitish in just 10 years.

Electing Lalu once again has just vindicated all those who said Bihar was(since lalu) & will remain the most undeveloped state of India for a long, long time.

Good Job Biharis:tup:

The same is ACTUALLY applicable for : Delhi , UP n Bihar !
Are we really in 2016 ?
The year may be 2016, but the mentality & voting patterns of many Indians is still stuck in the past you know 19th-20th century. Some are stuck even more behind.

I sympathize with Biharis for the suffering they are going to undergoes, but honestly speaking they brought this fate upon themselves by giving lalu 80 seats.

I said things about Bundelkhand of UP,You called it Somalia. Are you out of your mind? Have you ever been to there ?

Let me tell u about my village

1. My village is small and has voting strength of around 350 only. that is around 70 families (350/5) or 18 joint families.
2. It has 25-30 tractors,2 Combines and 2 or 3 JCB/Caterpillar
3. and 12-13 cars including 7 SUVs(1 fortuner and 2 Safari), few buses and 10 tyre Trucks and almost everyone has motorcycles .

Not all village is same, some are better and some not so good.

But One thing is certain, It is far far from Somalia.
