The Bengal Tiger roars into Olympic final

.
How can we win any Olympic medal when we have so much hostility towards anything resembles sports(exception Cricket!).A guy won gold medal in commonwealth games for us,police beat him to be physically handicapped, then he fled the country. This girl also had something which made her to leave BD and returned to Russia.Anyone with a potential in sports can not stay in this country.
what the hell!!!

Sports facitilies(excluding cricket) are poor in all South Asian countries, however I am surprised that BD hasn't won a single medal!
we are billion plus people but still hardly win any medal... so am not surprised...

.
^ You guys still did this year. Good on you.

Wasnt there an Indian shooter who won a gold medal and received 1 million rupee? Wasnt it Olympics?

Most back benchers tries sports in Bangladesh. They eventually fails, as sports requires high level of brain powers more than muscle power.

most of these sports needs tonnes of money in investment... bd has millions of people to choose from and we got billions .. if china can do so can others(except some games like 100 mtrs sprint in which some race seem to have huge advantage).

For this-

On October 2, 2006, after a rough incident between police and shooting federation staff, police broke into the federation premises and assaulted several shooters including Khan. Khan and his fellow shooters were preparing for the 2006 Asian Games to be held at Doha on November 2006. An altercation occurred between a police chauffeur and a federation guard regarding the parking of a car. Following this, police came to the spot and, according to witnesses, beat "whoever they found".[4]

Police beat Khan in multiple area and severely injured his left arm and leg. Khan said, "We, in fact, tried to stop the brawl but police would not listen to us". He also tried to protect himself by asserting his identity and success to his attackers. However, the police appeared to intensify their violence after this revelation. He, along with four other shooters and staff, were taken to the police station and beaten again. They were later sent to court by the police. Khan was granted bail from the court and was admitted to hospital. Doctors suggested that his arm muscles were badly injured and would take time to recover. His leg was also injured seriously and doctors were uncertain of when he would be able to practice again.[5] Khan's mental and emotional trauma was also apparent as he claimed he would give up shooting.[6] He even pondered he would give his Commonwealth Games gold medal back to the authority.[7]

First you need to attract talents. You cant just waste billions on dumb assses. Results will be horrific.

yeah am not saying give billions to people, i am saying spend money on infrastructure.. stadiums, training centers....

First off, congratulations to Bangladesh to have one of their own reach the finals.
The curse of cricket spans the entire subcontinent. I just wish sometimes that there should be blanket ban of cricket for 10 years and all the money/sponsorships/infra be concentrated on developing other sports. Cricket has done zilch for our countries except for making cricket boards vulgurlay fat and rich.

or may be create a fund dedicated to other sports by taxing cricket boards... and allowing legal betting...

It seems North East/Eastern subcontinent has some good genes for gymnastics.

We have this semi-Bangladesh talented gymnast....and India's Dipa Karmakar (from Tripura) almost got a medal this olympics too.

I think at least India should really increase its scouting and training of youngsters from the area for gymnastics (esp girls)....Bangladesh really needs an attitude change to start things moving
