The American Dream Is Alive In China

I don't ever recall the American Dream as one that involves being silenced by your government, jailed or killed for critiquing its leaders, being ranked on a national scale by a so-called "social credit score", or facing down a soon-to-collapse economy driven by a property bubble, business & economic malpractice, and widespread use of slave labor.

Keep on dreaming, as long as it make you feel good for the past 40 years, just like marijuana allowed in Canada.

I do feel good, but what's more important is that the rest of my fellow Canadians and Americans are feeling good about their lives and the state of their government. The same cannot be said of China and its citizens that are more or less forced to support their Stalinist assembly of dictators.

Good, I see how west media brain wash work. I live in US, watch CNN, FOX and many other as well. I read NYTimes, Wall streat Journal and many others.

I love west media so much, it's so stupid which is beyond imagination.

You see white beggars everywhere? Interesting, That is not what I saw when I recently visited the US, not in Washington, not in NY, not in Miami, neither Philadelphia. Well certainly there are beggars however especially in Chicago and LA business district but most are homeless Blacks, not Whites.

Ok I saw a slum indeed: NY Chinatown. I have to say, I am very disappointed. Dirty roads, ugly foods. You should be ashamed!

I have never been to Seattle, so can’t tell.
You are the worst white worshiper I have ever seen. No white beggar in America??? Ask Americans in this forum if they agree! BTW, Chinese and Vietnamese do live close by in a lot of American cities. You are no better or even worse. "Ashamed" is not enough to describe you @Viet , disgusting is the word for you. You are truly disgraceful.

Come to California: San Francisco , San Jose, Los Angeles etc ; almost like India with number of people sleeping in the streets.

Average living standards in the US are still far higher than China.
Average income in medieval societies were also high! A feudal was earning few million bucks in today's money, and a thousand of his serfs combined earned 0. As a whole, serfdom's income was still ok!

That means you have never been to America.

Fyi

San José has the highest household incomes in the US. Go ask 100,000 ethnic Vietnamese that live there.

The best pho resto, best Viet foods, best etc are in San José.

I can’t tell much about San Francisco. Go ask the Chinese posters here. There is Chinatown. Foods are not too great but ok. Roast ducks are good. Pork rice soup great.

The Bay Area is where the greatest wealth gap in the US is. Average household income is very high, but the gap between the rich and poor is reaching third world status. San Francisco is renowned for massive numbers of homeless even though it is one of America's richest cities. The average home price is too high for a middle class person to purchase a home because the city is becoming an enclave for the super rich.

Chinatown's restaurants are tourist traps. The best Chinese restaurants are not in Chinatown. Like I said, Chinatown is mostly a ghetto filled with impoverished old people who have mental disorders.

Ok if you work as street cleaner, fastfood servant, etc at the Bays then you are at the receiving end. High five of capitalism!

Is China any different?

Do you issue food stamps or something to the poor in Beijing?

China probably has more social services for the average person. But of course the average quality of life in the US is still far higher regardless of what this article says.

Of course China is a different country now as it was 10 or 20 years ago.
I find rediculous that China considers itself as developing country despite trillion in forex, Icbm and Hsr. Chinese should give up all privileges that are reserved for the poor.

I lived in US for more than a decade, I assure you there are numerous homeless even in bay area, or high-tech Seattle, more and more homeless everywhere.

I go to Chinese super market every week, there are white homeless every time when I was there.

A long the road, I see many white homeless raising a cardboard, there are beggars everywhere in US.

So why not move to China for a brighter future?

China is still a developing country. But it's not like any other developing country because of its massive size. Many provinces or regions of China can already be considered developed countries and are nearing first world status like Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong, etc. However, there are many regions that are still very much developing.

With that said, China should NOT be considered a developing country when it comes to trade organizations like the WTO because China's industrial capacity is already extremely developed and world leading in many areas. To have the advantages of a developing country is unfair and a farce when it comes to trade.

There are more developed regions, and there are less developed in Every country. Imagine, Germany declares itself as developing country because there are poorer regions in eastern parts. Rediculous!
