Should have Been a 1- 0 win to NZ, if Italy spent more time playing and less time rolling on the ground like little girls every time a Kiwi brushed their shirt, may be they could have won. All thier acting only gave the enough penalties for a draw.

was newzealand good enough for italians, no, i think, but their goal keaper saved many goals and made some good attacks. btw newzealand team ranked in the 70s played much better with the 5th ranked italian team!!

we need to consider the fact that italy was defending champion and new zealand is not among the very top teams in the world.

among the top class teams, only south americans are shining, europe is struggling in this tornament.

Its the new ball. If you watched the match, you will see that Italians were struggling with their passing and ball control. The ball is too bouncy, and that coupled with a slippery pitch made life hard for Italians, who were trying long passes.

Compare that with the Brazilians, who adjusted well and stuck to short, ground-passes. They mastered the ball and hence crushed Cote D'Ivoire
