We will attach the ASELSAN radar, which can see 200 km, to Hürjet. Its nose is made according to it, so we will place our missiles on it, which will be the same as the F-16 radar. Hürjet will land at TCG Anadolu. Hürjet's hourly flight costs, on average, you can divide the flight cost of the F-16 by 5. Basic Kotil | TAI General Manager

@Oublious I guess now we have confirmation on the Murad AESA integration on the Hurjet, similar to how the Koreans are fitting an AESA for the FA-50 block 20 for 2025.

Indeed, the 2 billion dollar project includes Hurjet to. Still Hurjet is a own initiative project of TAI. Will Tuaf buy more is the question.

Hence, it's now at 4.5+ regime for Block 0. By 2026 a true 5th gen engine will get ready, and the later blocks will emerge....

Still pretty smart move when you think about it. To go with a reliable US time proven powerplant that's readily available as well as the replacement parts for it. If turkey they built a new engine for it they'd be in the machine shop every time something breaks

A 5th gen fighter with an American 4th gen 1980s engine.

You know the F110 didn't just stay undeveloped since the initial batch were built right? China/Russia are flying W-10Cs and AL-41s which are from a similar class and generation.

There is no operational 5th gen engine of this class out there besides the ones Pratt and Whitney built for the F-22 and F-35.

. .
Current variant of F110 still is more advanced than any engine Pakistan can get its hands on from China or Russia.

Can't say that for sure. Pakistan already have F100-PW-200 in F16 and WS-10C in J10C. The F110, F100-PW-200 and WS-10C are very similar engines in terms of their performance and capabilities.

. . .
I reckon, the work on the engine might be quite a bit already in development, hence why the confidence is high.

Let's see what happens to the engines when they roll out of the hangar for flight tests. So far, the engine of 4th generation fighters is the basis. The process of finalising the 4th generation engine to the requirements of the 5th generation took Russia and China years. And it became one of the main problems.

The F110 engine uses afterburner to achieve mach speeds which greatly increases its radar visibility. The F-22 uses the F119 engine which provides supercruise (mach speeds without afterburner), greatly decreasing its radar profile and enhancing its stealthiness.
