TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

.
I am just wondering what's now crossing across the minds of the IAF high command......

The American/Indian veto over the military modernisation plans are also coming to an end with the rise of Turkey, and therefore by proxy the Indian/IAF veto over PAF plans. With the growth of Turkey, and potentially China, the technological gap can be managed better than the late 90's when sanctions were at full effect.

(not TFX rant(!) - sorrry y'all )

Both America/India have however developed an economic veto over Pakistan, and of course both America/India has a "political veto" by their control of the PA Generals/GHQ/ISI who are doing their bidding on top.

That veto has to be removed aswell and either IK wins or he dies trying. I of course hope for the former. If he can, then the economic/political veto can be slowly removed over time and Pakistan can then truly be "free" ..

To the left you have the USA/India combo with their economic veto on Pakistan future, and on the right you have the Chinese Debt Trap. A hard road for Pakistan to navigate, but one fully the responsibility of the PA Generals/GHQ/ISI as the root cause.

The fight for Azaadi takes many forms, right now the fight is against GHQ/ISI/PA imperalism and therefore by proxy - both both America/India.

The Navantia Athlas-26000 infrastructure (base model of TCG ANadolu) is essentially a platform designed from scratch as a multi-role ship. In other words, it really includes the LCA concept, and in fact they won the tender because they agreed to open this design in its entirety.

One of the reasons why Navantia has embarked on such a flexible design is probably because of NATO's concept works in the early 2000s on pocket carriers for NATO's peripheral naval elements and other Atlantic allies in the oceans. Indeed, they have sold this platform to both Australia and Turkiye. In addition, countries such as Korea and Japan are moving forward with different platforms but based on the same logic.

However, there is a very important detail here, the complementary element of the pocket carrier concept included the use of the STOVL version of the joint strike fighter as a main combatant platform. When the Turkish navy awarded the tender to Navantia, it was actually planning to acquire these aircrafts, but things went in a different direction, planning mistakes were made, political mistakes were made.

This has pushed the Turkish navy to be more flexible in building its fixed-wing air force and to instrumentate its advantages. But if you don't have a STOVL supersonic jet equivalent to the F35B, you have to rebuild the equation again, and you have to go one step further to reach a deterrent sortie capacity.

This is Japan's Hyuga class ASW helicopter carrier.

These ships are only tasked with ASW duties.
They have only one mission: hunt submarines.

What roles do TCG Anadolu take on?
  • Landing operations
  • Drone operations (CAS? Intelligence? Anti ship? Air superiority?)
  • ASW for sure
  • Disaster relief
  • Fleet carrier? / Escort carrier?
Reminds me of Germany's first aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. Unsure of what the **** it's supposed to be.
It's wrong to put so much weight on top of a single ship and her crew.

The Japanese navy is the third largest in the world. So they can build 4 LHDs and convert only two of them so two more suitable ones to LCA. So they don't need to use all 4 platforms to accumulate experience in aircraft carrier operation again. The problem is that TR is 1/3 of the Japanese navy. The same navy has nearly 30 destroyers and heavy frigates with air defense capability.

Navantia Athlas 26000 platform is a STOVL jet pocket carrier design. Hangars, elevators, ski jump at the end of the deck and hundreds of other design differences are related to this. The Turkish navy has chosen this aproach. I understand what you are trying to explain, but I am trying to express that the planning on the navy side was different from the beginning.

I understand your point of view as well, I agree that this is a good opportunity to experiment with different platforms, different modes of operation and gain experience, but in the end we have to decide what this ship is going to be. It can't be everything.

A LOT of people including so called defence experts and analysts don't want to understand this.

I give the JMSDF as an example because they have a century of experience on operating carriers.

First they came for the racial epithets and I said nothing because I wasn't a racist... then.

Well, you know the rest. Now the trannies are grooming your kids and you can't say anything because if you say anything you're antisemitic, homophobic etc.

reject their language policing, grow a pair and say whatever you want.
Based but I don't think hard r really serves any purpose, but you're right, the language policing sets a psychological precedent to avoid people voicing their opinions or criticising certain ideologies/groups

They artirically engineer an echo chamber and block out differing opinions

Exactly, glad someone understands this.

I think that these people have read 1984 and instead of taking it as a warning as it was intended to be, they took it as a guidebook.

I think people like @Falcon26 unwittingly become their accomplices. I think he's a good guy but good guys are being taken advantage of due to their compassion and they are being turned against their fellow men. And while we're busy bickering amongst ourselves the elites take all the money, start all the wars, experiment on us like fucking lab rats.

And this is why democracy is failing, because we don't set the agenda a bunch of very powerful people who own all the media do. These people are very well educated and they know exactly how to manipulate the masses. SO I say reject all of their rules, live free, think freely and speak freely.

I am all for free speech and free expression but racial epithets and slurs are a redline. There’s simply no way racial slurs can be justified in the night of free expression.

I respect your opinion but don't get mad when other people put other red lines in front of you and when you ultimately lose your right to free speech.

Turkiye needs program partners. Pakistan, S.A. Eygpt , would not be bad.
Partners for what? I don't see what contribution they can make other than money. and I dont think we need partners to finish the TF-X

We need partners for a sixth generation fighter program. A country like Japan or South Korea or Britain that can contribute technology.

If your idea of free speech is unconstrained right to offend and hurt anybody based on racial, disability or religious grounds, then I am afraid you are in the fringe. No legal or moral system can justify that. Even Europe has clear redlines that makes sure you can’t hide behind free speech to propagate their bigotry and racism.

Systems developed for the National Combat Aircraft, but not yet integrated into the F-22:

-360° DAS Sight Sphere
-BEOS/EOTS (Advanced optical Systems)
-HMDS (Helmet Display System)
-360° AESA Radar
-Locking on to enemy aircraft from all directions
-IRST Infrared Sensor
-Artificial Intelligence Co-pilot
-Pilot Health Tracking
-DIRCM Laser countermeasure

The moment that "this offends me" becomes a justification to silence someone, you've already lost your freedom.
Partners are good for all defence projects. it means sharing costs which is very fine for Turkiye shaked by horrible EQ killed 50K people and demolished quarter million homes , more production number and sharing know how.
A formal education system to educate the construction crews and a willing bureucracy to inspect the companies would have fixed the issue a decade ago.

Still, nothing is being done to fix the construction sector. Nobody can help you if you're unwilling to help yourself.

It's not about the money, it's about putting the correct systems in place.

Most of these exist on F-35 and a couple of them exist on the Sukhois. We basically took the best features of each system. But I think we can do more.

THE ROAD BLOCK or CHALLENGE :

"Every success brings with it certain challenges. Sub systems such as 360° DAS development & associated Electronics / Munitions are well on the cards ...

The limited insights we have about the rear and of the TF-X prototype, together with its reported taxi test, also again raises one specific long-standing question:

When will the domestic engines be ready to power it?

What are the development in that area ?"
