What's new

TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

I say it again. The GE F110 engines in the F16s and the engines that will be used in the TFX are not the same.

And no purchase agreement or production under license agreement has yet been signed for TFX. Moreover, the domestic engine development contract was not signed with TEI or Kale companies. This situation is making me nervous.

Oh BTW, the GE F404 engines were contractually supposed to have been delivered by now, but they haven't been delivered yet either.

I must be the fool, look, our officials are so relaxed!

I am getting a feeling from your words that you are waiting some one to ask you "if this is the case then what is going to happen .......... " and you probably have an answer too for this .......... so kindly speak-up whats in your mind.

What do you mean they haven't been delivered? the first flight is in a couple of months in March? How is it going to fly if there is no engine?

The GE F404 engines were expected to be delivered by the end of 2022. However, they were not delivered. The contract deadline was January 2023. However, as far as I know, there was no delivery until January 15th. Let's see if the F404s will be delivered, I'm very curious.

As a footnote: Especially some European companies offer exorbitant wages to TEI employees, much much higher than market prices. Of course, their aim is to sabotage TEI's domestic engine development. This engine problem is starting to get annoying.

According to the news of trhaber dated August 3, 2022, the engines were delivered.

The early arrival of the engines to be used in the first prototypes of HURJET in Turkey delighted everyone.

The F404 engine manufactured by the General Electric company will be used in the aircraft. F110 engines of the same company will be used in the first prototypes of the National Combat Aircraft. The fact that both F110 and F404 engines were sent to Turkey made people smile. It is stated that the last delivery to TAI took place a while ago. TAI signed a contract with the US General Electric company for the delivery of 80 engines.

hmm.. sounds similar to what I had heard, a few pieces had been delivered for testing purposes, I think Ismael Demir mentioned something like that.

No typical western bias in your writing is there
This comment would make sense if I was a westerner.

I want TFX to be the best, you should check the country flags and know who you're talking to before speaking.

they can't be too different though right? Same diameter, same thrust. There should be 80-90% parts interchangability.

If the worst happens, I assume İt wouldn't take TEI too long to reverse engineer the F110

As for TAI I'd like them to make an F414 powered high performance version of Hürjet... kind of like the Gripen E.

That way we wouldn't have to kneel and beg for F16s. Fucking shameful

Let me tell you what I said about Altay here. I will give you the correct news. According to the contract, F404 engines must be delivered no later than January 2023. And at this time the engine was not delivered even for the prototypes. Temel Kotil personally phoned and asked, "Where are my F404 engines?" saying. I'll let you know when the engines arrive.

@LegionnairE;

Since we can cast 3rd generation single crystal, it is more logical to directly attempt to develop the original 35000 lbs thrust domestic engine instead of copying the F110 engines.

Here are 3 things that bother me. a) There is no signed contract for the purchase of the F110 from GE company. b) There is no contract to be produced under license. c) Worst of all, there is no signed contract for domestic development!

I don't understand what they are waiting for.

Just a simple question..
Do u think the Turkish engineers forgot about the engine???

According to the TEI CEO, Prof Dr Temel Kotil, the engines (F16 type) were integrated into TFX in 2 hrs! It'll fly by the end of 2023. They're now waiting for an appointment from the President to show him the ground tests. Now, if all of these can be done without a physical engine then kudos to the Turkish engineers....

Pakistani living in Britain is going to tell me about having inbuilt western bias  You can shove that finger up your rectum you inbred piece of shit.

Sure, but it would have to be much better than F110 to justify it's existence. A new engine will face many theething problems, it needs to be absolutely worth it.

New engine could also mean a new engine family. There could be a high by-pass turbofan engine based on the same core design which could be the basis for a new civilian airliner, a military cargo plane, a tanker plane etc.

Turkish economy is in such terrible shape, it would greatly help to finally get our aircraft industry going.

So these things should be planned ahead of time.

It's really annoying that f404 still hasn't arrived. Why did they still sign the contract for the f110 engines? Do they think GE won't sign the deal? What do you think about this?

They said the tf6000 is experimental. Their main goal is to gain experience to manufacture the tf35000. When the tf6000 prototype works, they will start the tf35000 project immediately. I guess they will not give the tender to the Kale-RR partnership.
