'Terrorists' freed in Bahrain prison raid

I hope you guys are correct but incidents like these really hurts me . Iran is playing extremely dirty game . in every part of Middle east

that's a good sign if this is happening . because the news shared on Press TV is showing really worrying
Hahaha don't watch press TV. You will get depression.. It's like you are watching Arnob goswami for Pakistan affairs.

Bahrain seems at least somewhat active compared to this place. It's dead boring in Qatar.
Many qatris come to Bahrain for fun.
Because of its relaxed rules and regulations and cheaper than other places.
It was a place where i want live with my family forever until this unrest start.
Many families go back Pakistan because of this unrest.
Hope one day Bahrain will become same as before.

Bahrain has gone down the shitter ever since the global financial crisis in 2008.

Press tv is exaggerating the situation.
There are some protests happen some time but they contain them In their areas so they cannot harm others.
I agree with others about stability.but this unrest do have impact on economy.

So called peaceful protesters struck again. They have proven again and again that they are to be dealt with strict punishments. Bahrain govt has been a lot lenient with these terrorists. They will be caught soon along with their aiders and abettors. Lately the people have been demanding strict punishments. Enough with the leniency. These terrorists take it as our weakness.

Things will only get worse in Bahrain if the government doesn't undergo political reforms.

That's the ugly truth that most people don't like to hear.

Brutal force isn't going to make these problems go away.

Ten Inmates Convicted of Terrorism Charges Escape from Bahrain Prison

A manhunt is underway in Bahrain for ten inmates convicted of terrorism charges who escaped after armed gunmen stormed the prison, killing a police officer.

Bahrain's interior ministry said on Twitter that five members of a "terrorist group" armed with automatic rifles and pistols attacked Jaw prison, located south of the capital of Manama, Sunday.

Seven of the inmates were serving life sentences and three were serving lengthy prison terms for what the ministry said were "terrorist acts."

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which also wounded a second officer.

Bahrain, a small island nation off the coast of Saudi Arabia, has grappled with low-level unrest since its 2011 Arab Spring protests when the country's Shi'ite majority and others demanded greater political freedoms from the nation's Sunni rulers. Shi'ites have complained the Sunni-led monarchy has discriminated against them, a charge that the government denies.

The government launched a broad crackdown on protestors in April, jailing some prominent political figures and pushing others into exile. Thousands of primarily Shi'ite Muslims have been imprisoned for participating in anti-government activities.

Bahrain is home to the U.S. 5th Fleet. Britain is also opening a naval base in the Persian Gulf nation.

Actually things are getting better with each passing day without the reforms. When the govt wanted reforms through negotiations the opposition had their eye on the whole pie. Now they won't get a piece of it. They feel defeated and their plots failed. With their opposition leaders who incited violence behind bars things have gotten calmer. This incident has been out of the blue and the culprits will be punished. The issue is that the punishments are not a deterrent for these seasoned terrorists because it is too lenient. People wish the punishments of KSA were in effect here as well. There should be no mercy on people who endanger the lives of the citizens and residents, detonate bombs, damage public property, damage country's reputation, kill government officials. These are not first timers instead they are trained terrorists. Even after reforms they won't stop with their evil plans because the end game is different. Reforms is just a short cut out of all the troubles they are in.

What on Earth are you talking about?

Do you really live in Bahrain?

The country is going backwards. The economy is going down the shitter, and you're honestly going to tell me that things are getting better with each passing day?

The economy is going down for the whole region not only Bahrain starting from the economic crises in 2008 and hardly jolted with decreased oil prices. Bahrain has always been dependent on other gulf countries. The security situation getting better with each passing day is what I meant.

Yeah, sadly.

The problem was always the economy, by the way.

That's what led to the whole 2011 uprising in the first place. Things were much better before the global financial crisis of 2008.

This is exactly why I'm not optimistic about the future of Bahrain or the rest of the region for that matter.

The GCC states failed to successfully diversify away from oil. The only real success story in the region is Dubai.

Well I would like to partially disagree. The unrest was never due to the economic situation alone no matter what the opposition might pretend. The main factor being similar situations in the neighboring countries along with the factors such as economic situation, western support etc. The locals supporting the opposition used to say that they planned it for a later time but given the opportunity they tried their luck. At that time the govt wanted to negotiate as many of their demands were fair and legit. The opposition took it as a sign of weakness and changed their demand to toppling of the government. No matter what they try to pretend the main aim was always to topple the govt and put a Shia govt in place. I am not saying the current govt is perfect, no human is. But I can vouch that their is no bias in government policies when it comes to sunni or shia.
