How a tsunami is created without an earthquake?

The early warning (tsunami buoy) only able to detect seismic triggered tsunami (regular tsunami), this particular tsunami were triggered by landslide. (not enough energy and different kind of wave length to trigger the alarm)

SWAG in my part, looking at the latest overhead of Anak Krakatoa, I would say it was a full flank collapse. With significant mass of the Anak Krakatoa being underwater a full flank collapse and the additional underwater steam release (due to magma contact with seawater) has sufficient mass and energy to displace the necessary amount of water to trigger a tsunami.

In some degree this is similar to the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa of which at the time the magma chamber itself was fully collapse under the weight of the seawater on top of it and bring in down the whole islands chain with it and triggering a 46m high MegaTsunami that wipe out everything in it's path.

The problem of this latest tsunami is, that there wasn't any earthquake previously. So it was a sudden strike. According to the official, there was a similar tsunami at the same place in around 1920 (I don't know the precise year). But the land at that time still practically empty, so there was no human victims at that time. But today, the area is already crowded. That's why there are a lot of victim in this recent disaster.

The western tip of Java island was wipe out of human presence due to the 1883 Krakatoa eruption that triggered a 46m high MegaTsunami and the 250MT equivalent of shockwave and energy release, thus creating what we currently known as the Ujung Kulon National Park. However most people doesn't realize is that the jungle there was recently created due to the absent of human presence.

Wait, do you still remember how Tsunami hit Japan some years ago? How many people were died at that disaster? 15.000 casualty. I'm not mocking Japanese technology and how they invested their money into Tsunami Warning System. But that is only a proof that our best technology still not conquer the Earth.
