He was good no doubt, but maybe an Indian can explain his 'God' status.....because what i know of my religion and belief, a god is almighty, undefeatable and all knowing.

But then again, he is god of cricket in India. No where else have i seen cricketers being referred to as 'God'

As I mentioned it earlier, Sachin was first called as God not by any Indian but by Hathew Hayden.

The term God here, doesn't mean all mighty, but the greatest. Just like Godfather. What do you understand my the term Godfather?

And you have absolutely no idea how Pele was seen in Brazil.

First you criticize him for scoring only centuries and not playing for the team and then you critize him for not scoring a century for 34 innings!!??? And Btw do you know how many times he got out in the 90s during those 34 innings?

Ponting was a successful captain who got two world championship trophies for Australia, who can take over the captaincy instead of ponting after the retirement of glichrist hayden and other big fishes. Yeah yeah sachin got out so many times at the 90s due the pressure to add a count in his centuries list. Any neutral can say how sachin would play before he scores 80 sand after crossing 80...

Sachin plays more for individual records than for the team. To hit his 100th century he waited waited waited couldn't make that against big teams like south africa or england, finally hit his 100th century against bangladesh and retired from cricket. Stupids calling him the god of cricket.

When murali had 792 test wickets he announced that he is going to play his last test match tomorrow. In his last test he took 8 wickets and reached the milestone of 800 wickets. That's legendary, what sachin did is selfishness...

Well As far as I think, Sachin was not the most talented indian batsman, it was Yuvraj. but it depends on how you use your talent, the biggest achievement of Sachin was his perseverance a career of 24 years!!! I do not think there was any cricketer who had longer international career. I think he did his best with his talent. but in oneway kapil was right that Sachin could have done better.

Kapil Dev & Virender Sehwag came from Punjab/Haryana/jatt/kshathriya background hence they displayed their natural aggressive characteristics in their carrers while Sunil Gavaskar & Sachin Tendulkar came Marathi/Brahmin background hence showed their natural characteristics of their mind controlling their aggression to play the copy book cricket.
