Tell me about tribal people

Hi, I am from Canada and I hear about drone strikes all the time but I was wondering if Pakistanis on this forum can tell me about people of FATA and NWFP. How do "regular" Pakistanis view the tribal people? Are there are any tribal people on this forum?

I don't know much about internal Pak situation but I am curious as to how the tribal people are perceived in mainstream Pakistani society.

Also, how are the living standards of tribal people? And, is it true that there is no terrorists in North Waziristan? Or are there many terrorists? Please answer every single question.

Hello friend. Im a young boy from Swat, the Switzerland of Pakistan.

Other Pakistanis would like us to leave behind strict Tribal rituals and be more associated with the rest of Pakistan. We are like regular Pakistanis,but government has forgotten us, just like Pakistani Nationalist has stated above. Majority of Tribal people are Pashtun, and all tribes, whether Yousufzai, Afridi, Mahsuds etcc.. fallow one code and that is Pakhtunwali.

Lol there are terrorist all over the tribal belt friend. North Waziristan without a doubt is also full of terrorists.

How? I have heard that tribal people support terrorists and want to split away from Pakistan. Is this true?

We Pakistanis who are not from Tribal areas of Pakistan hold a lot of respect for the Pakistanis of FATA.

The Pakistanis of FATA are true patriotic Pakistani heroes. They are the ones who freed Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Indian occupation in 1948. They are loved by every Pakistani except by the corrupt government of Pakistan.

The Pakistanis of FATA are our heroes.

Not true. The tribals hate the taliban as much as any one else, as they have made their life miserable! As for the separation part, majority of people in FATA want to REMAIN with Pakistan and consider themselves Pakistani. The ones who want to "separate" are usually afghans who have crossed the border.

Abt drone strikes........ well wat abt the innocent tht dies in these strikes? Just few days ago usa bombed a peace meeting.... 40 killed all innocent.... Do u support the indiscriminate killing of innocent people?

This is all propaganda coming from western and indian medias.

We wouldn't have the 2nd largest peak K2 right now if it wasn't for the people of FATA. We wouldn't have freed almost half of Kashmir without the people of FATA.

I know that there are some traitors in Pakistan but people of FATA are not one of them.

Yes I have heard about lashkars but the media here says they are Al Qaeda. I wonder why the tribals didn't fight the Taliban in 2001/2002 when they first started coming into the area. And yes friend I am so sorry to hear of the bruise to your nation with 40 innocents killed I do not support drone attacks but don't you think Pak army should develop a plan to kill terrorists in North Waziristan?

Well, the government has done very little to nothing for people residing in the tribal belt, especially FATA, and regions alongside the Afghan border. We do not have enough or any good schools, hospitals, technology, etc... But now with Operations taking place to flush out terrorists, there are also development projects taking place at the same time. So hopefully we'll see a gradual increase in all the good stuff that the rest of Pakistan enjoys.

I dont support Drone strikes. In my opinion Pakistan Army can do it alone, but if Pakistan Army insists that drones are necessary, then I agree.

Yes, today at this time Tribal people under the supervision of Pak Army are fighting alongside the army flushing Taliban.

Tribals who hate Pakistan do exist. Most of them are Hardcore Afghan Nationalist that mainly consists of Pashtuns. They have traveled from the other side of the border and want an uprising of Pakistani Pashtuns to fight for a useless cause; a separate Pashtun state.

If you haven't noticed, Pakistan has millions of illegal afghans residing in it today and they keep coming. And no sane Pakistani would ever cross over to afghanistan, unless they want to die. Maybe two Pakistanis at most cross into afghanistan every year. As for the bolded part, thats nothing but afghan propaganda.

LOL. A word of advice. If you want to know anything about Pakistan or Pakistanis, please dont ask the Afghans or the Indians and dont ask anyone online because Afghans and Indians can speak the languages that are spoken in Pakistan and can easily pose as Pakistani on the internet.

As for the North Waziristan operation, too many Pakistani lives have already been lost. Pakistanis are not willing to lose more innocent Pakistani lives for someone else's war. Just like every other country on earth, Pakistan should protect its people and protect its interests.

Yes I know about Afghan refugee crisis situation that Pak people cannot seem to retain. Yes the bolded he says he is telling the truth Pak army always comes and shells and shoots villagers and market places. And he thinks that Pak army/ISI is hiding Bin Laden in North Waziristan or Bajaur agencies.
