Sharia Faisla Board calls the Supreme Court verdict on triple talaq as an ‘interference’ in Islamic laws

Calling the Supreme Court’s verdict which ruled triple talaq unconstitutional as an “interference” in Islamic law, the Sharia Faisla Board (SFB), an umbrella body of prominent religious and social Muslim organizations in Telangana, said on Thursday that it will carry out a campaign to educate Muslims about Islam and the Sharia (Muslim personal law) in the coming days. It also said that those opposing the Sharia within the community will be considered non-Muslims.

“We will start this programme in Hyderabad and conduct it across south India. The Supreme Court’s ruling has opened the door for interference in our religion,” said Mushtaq Mallik, president, Muslim Shabban Tahreek, while addressing a press conference. Mallik, along with other members from various organisations which are part of the SFB convened a meeting on Thursday to discuss the SC’s verdict on triple talaq.

Mallik said that the SFB will carry out a door-to-door programme starting with Hyderabad to explain Muslims about Islamic jurisprudence. “Those who oppose, question or do not accept the Sharia or Islam, we will explain these things to them also. If they still are not convinced, then they will be ex-communicated from the religion and not be considered as Muslims,” he added.

Both Mallik and Moulana Yousuf Zayed, chairman, Telangana Ulema Council (TUC), said that the RSS and the Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) are trying to interfere in the Muslim personal laws (Sharia).

“This is one of the ways they want to push the demand for the Uniform Civil Code,” alleged Mallik.)

The government has to make open declarations, telecasted at the frequency of shampoo commercials on all television channels- People are free to leave their faith. Anyone found bothering such a person would be imprisoned.

if the court had just said that those doing triple talaq would get long jail times,it would have been fine
but to say that it is banned is trying to change Islam
which can never be changed even at the cost of your life.
remember,these Hindus are the modern versions of the idol worshippers of pre Islamic Arabia.
do not agree to anything anti Islam that they try to impose on you even if they torture you to death

Government cannot apply rules and implement policies as they suit.

On what basis can the government which cannot provide healthcare or jobs to its citizens intervene in the internal affairs of the family in the name of protecting rights?

Would a Muslim rickshaw wala in Hyderabad sell his daughter to a rich Arab sheikh if he can get good education and employment? The answer is an emphatic no.

Tragically, Government instead of treating the root causes of the problem is trying to treat the symptoms.

These so called maulanas and ulemas has to be locked in Jail and keys thrown, Let them follow sharia inside Jail

It's a paradox when you speak of modernity and a practice like triple talaq in the same sentence. Practices that do not treat women at par with men have no place in a country run through universal adult franchise, Islamic or not.

Dude your dharmic religions needed some time-adjusted cleansing as well, the British saw to it. Else you'd have been burning your widows alive, getting your toddlers married and keeping your daughters away from school as well.

I am all for continued reform of dharmic religions to rid of medieval practices but we should leave Islam behind. Let it rot and decay with its medieval practices. I do not want our energies wasted on trying to reform the Islamists.
